The purpose of this study was to determine whether craftspeople in West Virginia were ready to use new communication technologies to market their products, by cooperative or other business structures. Survey respondents completed their self-reports and mailed questionnaires back to the researcher for both quantitative tabulation and documentation of additional comments.;The survey instrument focused on four areas of inquiry regarding craftspeople: (1) knowledge and skills of using electronic media for marketing; (2) experience, potential and interest in using communication technologies in cooperative or other group marketing efforts; (3) perceptions about the electronic communication infrastructure; and (4) perceptions of their degree …

This study investigated the relationship between faculty-student communication, student time management, student expectations, and quality of instruction and the level of student success in distance courses. The population of the study consisted of undergraduate students enrolled in Independent Study courses at Mountain State University (N = 1007) during the summer and fall 2001 terms. The sample consisted of 500 students randomly selected from the population. Participants completed the Distance Education Satisfaction Survey developed by the researcher. Culture shock is a serious problem for spouses of international students. This recollection study looked at use of telephone, web phone, email, chat, and online newspapers as predictors for culture shock. Fifteen spouses of international students at a mid-Atlantic university were interviewed with the same rated questions asking them to recall how they felt: When they first arrived in the United States, during their first six months here, during their second six months here, during their third six months here, and at the time of the interview. Most federal, state, and local agencies use information derived from traffic crash reports for decision-making purposes. The accuracy and timeliness of this data is vital to safety program managers and traffic engineers. Assessing The Perceived Impact Of Computer-Assisted Instruction On Physical Therapy Education, Mia L. Erickson

Computer Assisted Instruction (CAI) is becoming more common in allied health education. Research on CAI has provided mixed results. The purpose of this study was to compare uses of CAI in entry-level physical therapist (PT) and physical therapist assistant (PTA) programs. Secondary purposes included determining faculty attitudes toward CAI, determining how faculty select and evaluate CAI, and describing faculty perceptions of CAI and the computer-based licensing exam. Results indicate no significant differences in the amount of CAI in PT and PTA programs. The literature review shows that gender inequality in computer use exists today. The inequality begins at birth with society giving boys and girl's roles that they have to play. One possible solution to gender inequality in computer use is to put a gender equity program in place at public schools.
