Digital Camera: An Interactive Tutorial, Roger Martinez I Colom Nov 1993

Digital Camera: An Interactive Tutorial, Roger Martinez I Colom

Theses

The purpose of this thesis is to explore the possibilities of computer graphics applied to the creation of instructional projects. Chosen the topic of "basic photography", I will produce an interactive application that will teach several techniques used when learning photography. The project, fully interactive, will combine several media (computer generated images, acquired images, sound, etc.), all controlled by the computer. The main goal is to develop a proper user interface which allows any person to utilize the application. The original proposal, cited above as it had been turned in to the Department, was slightly transformed. Rather than changed, it …

The Unified School, Roderick Martinez

Theses

It is the mission of this thesis to explore the portrayal of information as we know it. The graphic design industry of today is undergoing major changes, both good and bad. It is important to unlock the potential of these new opportunities, but more importantly we must not let ourselves forget our roots. This project exemplifies the harnessing of modern technology and the implementation of modern design processes. I believe that I have discovered some new aspects of portraying and organizing information by intensely involving myself in the process of this thesis project. Hence, the poster is transcended to offer …

The Use Of Object-Oriented Design Methodologies In Systems Design, Rick C. Larkin May 1993

The Use Of Object-Oriented Design Methodologies In Systems Design, Rick C. Larkin

Undergraduate Honors Capstone Projects

Object-oriented design methodologies, along with object-oriented programming techniques, have recently gained significant popularity as their advantages have become evident. Traditional methodologies following the structured approach have not been successful in providing an accurate model of the business system.Object-oriented techniques, where an object in the computer system corresponds to a real-world object, have been much more successful in accurately modeling the business system and its environment.

Object-oriented methodologies provide many advantages over structured approaches to systems design. Concepts such as data hiding, encapsulation, inheritance, dynamic binding, and polymorphism help to achieve an accurate and flexible system that is resistant to corruption …

On The Design Of A Multiagent User Interface For Next Generation Geographic Information System, Guishen Wang Jan 1993

On The Design Of A Multiagent User Interface For Next Generation Geographic Information System, Guishen Wang

UNLV Retrospective Theses & Dissertations

In this thesis, a multiagent user interface architecture is designed for the Next Generation Geographic Information System(NGGIS) which supports the following advanced features: multiple users, multiple views, direct manipulation, distribution, and intelligence. In this architecture, agent is a basic functional unit. Agents cooperate with each other by exchanging messages. The User is just a special agent who communicates with any other agents. The ShowCase and its cooperative agents are specialized to present the geographic objects in different views. The WorkShop and its cooperative agents provide a complete interface to allow the user to manipulate the GIS objects directly. The Monitor …
