The Use Of Thin Layer Chromatography (Tlc) In Qualitative And Quantitative Determinations Of Photographic Developing Agents (In Developer Solution) Using A Scanning Densitometer, Michael Gilbert
Theses
TLC was used, for qualitative and quantitative analysis of photographic developing agents hydroquinone, metol, phenidone, para phenylenediamine, para aminophenol, ascorbic acid and the oxidized species. Experimental conditions and procedures for reporting Rf values of the aqueous solutions of the developing agent were standardized. Quantitative TLC was done for hydroquinone. The density maxima obtained from the scanning densitometric trace of the eluted and visualized chromatogram was correlated to the concentration of the hydroquinone. Aqueous solutions of hydroquinone were prepared at four levels of concentration, three levels of pH and two levels of sodium sulfite concentration for quantitative analysis using TLC.

The Education Of A Computer: Development Of Computer-Assisted Instruction Of German Grammar, Karen Wintringham
The Education Of A Computer: Development Of Computer-Assisted Instruction Of German Grammar, Karen Wintringham
Senior Scholar Papers
Characteristic of the acquisition of most skills, the learning of a foreign language requires formalized, systematic training. Computer-assisted instruction provides the necessary individualized drill with accompanying reinforcement. The "BASIC" CAI course, MODALS, represents the culmination of nine months of research and programming of the instruction of German modal auxiliaries; the complex of sixty seven interconnected sub -programs provide drill of all six modals in five different tenses. Subsequent to the in-class introduction of new lecture material concerning the modals, any student may then proceed to the computer terminal, there undertaking further study of the subject. MODALS lacks an answer recording …
Development Of Irrigation In Wasatch County, Craig Woods Fuller
Development Of Irrigation In Wasatch County, Craig Woods Fuller
All Graduate Theses and Dissertations, Spring 1920 to Summer 2023
A primary basis for settlement locations in the great basin by the Mormons was the availability of water. The settlement of Heber Valley was no exception.
Water became quickly involved in two important and determining factors (cooperation and self-reliance) in the development of Mormon society in general and Wasatch County's society in particular. Likewise, these two factors influenced the direction in the development of water as it was utilized by the Mormons to establish the "Kingdom of God" on earth. Cooperation and self-reliance in Wasatch County were changed as modifications within the county were made as well as by other …
Courts, Church-State Relationships, Water And Timber Development, And Land Policies: Major Sources Of Conflict In Utah's Territorial Years, James Wayne Mecham
Courts, Church-State Relationships, Water And Timber Development, And Land Policies: Major Sources Of Conflict In Utah's Territorial Years, James Wayne Mecham
All Graduate Plan B and other Reports, Spring 1920 to Spring 2023
In the settlement of the West, the Mormon response was unique. since their methods, techniques, and institutions differed from other settlers of the West, the Mormons were repeatedly censured by outsiders. Although the institution of polygamy elicited considerable emotionalism and aroused determined opposition, there were other institutions which actually contributed just as much to the conflagration.
As the Utah War [1857-58] became an embarrassment to the United States government, congress demanded of President Buchanan the grounds upon which the decision for war was based. President Buchanan thereupon presented several letters, the first of which was written on October 3, 1856, …
A Comparison Of Three Teaching Procedures Used In The Development Of Improving Intonation In Clarinet Performance, K. Earl Ericksen
A Comparison Of Three Teaching Procedures Used In The Development Of Improving Intonation In Clarinet Performance, K. Earl Ericksen
All Graduate Theses and Dissertations, Spring 1920 to Summer 2023
This study assessed the relative efficiency of three teaching procedures used in the development of improving intonation in clarinet performance. The three treatment procedures used included the Beat Method, the C. G. Conn Stroboscope and Johnson Intonation Trainer. During the six weeks study, all Ss participated in two forty-five minute lessons per week. Intonation procedures were studied for fifteen minutes each lesson while other playing problems were discussed for the remaining time. Instruction time totaled nine hours per group. All Ss continued class work with their school music teacher. The experimental design also included a No Contact Control …
Statistical Analysis Of Grain Growth Based On The Frieser-Eger Film On Development Kinetics, Noreen Vredenburg, Sharon Perry
Statistical Analysis Of Grain Growth Based On The Frieser-Eger Film On Development Kinetics, Noreen Vredenburg, Sharon Perry
Theses
Data were obtained from the Frieser-Eger1 film on development kinetics for initiation times and for total development times of individual grains (times of complete development) in a lithographic developer and in a hydroquinone developer with normal sulfite level. Approximate areas were computed for each grain. The purpose of this investigation was to compare the process of development at the two sulfite levels and to determine if there is a functional relationship between total development time and grain size. Different relationships were expected for the two types of developers. This data analysis permits a better understanding of the differences between lithographic …
Investigations In Post-Fixation Physical Development, R. Jerry, J. Nelson
Investigations In Post-Fixation Physical Development, R. Jerry, J. Nelson
Theses
The procedure outlined by Matejec, Photograpische Korrespondenz, 104, 153 (1968), fixation in a thiosulfate-sulfite solution to which AgBr has been added, followed by washing in 1% sulfite solution, and development in a metol-sulfite-AgNO3 developer, was tested on seven silver iodobromide emulsions, each of a different average grain size. Samples were exposed, and processed by chemical and physical development. Matejec’s results, equality of threshold speed with post-fixation physical and chemical development, could only be realized with a very fine grain emulsion and high intensity exposure. It was found that the efficiency of physical development, relative to chemical development, is inversely related …
