Machine Learning Analysis Of Acoustic Attenuation Measurements For Cellular Characterization., John T. Moore May 2022

Machine Learning Analysis Of Acoustic Attenuation Measurements For Cellular Characterization., John T. Moore

Electronic Theses and Dissertations

T-cell therapies have been gaining popularity in recent years due to their cancer fighting potential. With remission rates improving in this field of immunotherapy, the demand for T-cell therapies has also increased; however, the cell processing techniques for these therapeutic products have yet to rise to the level of demand. The manufacturing process takes too long and a significant amount of processed cell batches can fail to meet safety requirements. These limitations of cell processing can be detrimental to patients seeking T-cell therapies. While current products have improved the time it takes to manufacture these therapeutic products, there is still …

A Machine Learning Approach For Allocating Route Cost To Customers For Transportation And Logistics Services., Alison Davis May 2020

A Machine Learning Approach For Allocating Route Cost To Customers For Transportation And Logistics Services., Alison Davis

Electronic Theses and Dissertations

Advancements in big data enabled management practices inspire logistics companies to study deeper into their transportation operations with a data driven approach. One such question asks: How can a logistics firm identify high-cost customers in their service network? In the presence of rich data on routes involving many customers, this thesis develops a framework to allocate a route cost among customers that the route serves, where each route is associated with multiple route features related to the transportation cost. Cost is allocated using the proportional allocation approach in combination with the random forest method in machine learning. First, this framework …

Machine Learning For Omics Data Analysis., Ameni Trabelsi May 2018

Machine Learning For Omics Data Analysis., Ameni Trabelsi

Electronic Theses and Dissertations

In proteomics and metabolomics, to quantify the changes of abundance levels of biomolecules in a biological system, multiple sample analysis steps are involved. The steps include mass spectrum deconvolution and peak list alignment. Each analysis step introduces a certain degree of technical variation in the abundance levels (i.e. peak areas) of those molecules. Some analysis steps introduce technical variations that affect the peak areas of all molecules equally while others affect the peak areas of a subset of molecules with varying degrees. To correct these technical variations, some existing normalization methods simply scale the peak areas of all molecules detected …

Osem : Occupant-Specific Energy Monitoring., Anand S. Kulkarni Aug 2016

Osem : Occupant-Specific Energy Monitoring., Anand S. Kulkarni

Electronic Theses and Dissertations

Electricity has become prevalent in modern day lives. Almost all the comforts people enjoy today, like home heating and cooling, indoor and outdoor lighting, computers, home and office appliances, depend on electricity. Moreover, the demand for electricity is increasing across the globe. The increasing demand for electricity and the increased awareness about carbon footprints have raised interest in the implementation of energy efficiency measures. A feasible remedy to conserve energy is to provide energy consumption feedback. This approach has suggested the possibility of considerable reduction in the energy consumption, which is in the range of 3.8% to 12%. Currently, research …
