The Compensatory Bargaining Set Of A Big Boss Game, Gianfranco Gambarelli, Irinel C. Dragan Jul 1989

The Compensatory Bargaining Set Of A Big Boss Game, Gianfranco Gambarelli, Irinel C. Dragan

Mathematics Technical Papers

The bargaining sets have been introduced as concepts of solution for cooperative n—person games with side payments by R.J.Aumann and M. Maschler (1964) and studied further by many authors. A comparison of various solutions for games with coalition structures has been done by R.J.Aumann and J.Dreze (1974). In a previous paper of one of the authors I.Dragan (1988), a modified concept of bargaining set, called the compensatory bargaining set, has been introduced and a combinatorial characterization of the noncore elements in the compensatory bargaining set has been obtained. Undocumented Migration To The United States: Can The Flow Be Stemmed?, Peter Gregory May 1989

Undocumented Migration To The United States: Can The Flow Be Stemmed?, Peter Gregory

Research Papers

The phenomenon of international migration is hardly one of recent origin. Modern history has recoreded large movements of population, not the least of which was the mass migration of Europeans to the United States during the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. While the literature on migration reflects a broad understanding of the forces that give rise to population movements, much less is kown about measures that can be taken to influence or control the size of migratory flows. Recent years have witnessed an increasing number of attempts by the advanced industrial countries of Western Europe and North America to …

A Border Crossing Station, Brownsville, Texas, Steven Quevedo, Todd Hamilton, John Maruszczak, Bill Boswell

School of Architecture Faculty Publications

The increasing influx of Latin Americans into the Southwest United States as a result of social, political and economic upheaval in their homelands is a growing concern for the state of Texas. A new immigration station is proposed for the Texas - Mexico border which would be essential to the journey of the international migrant. Serving simultaneously both as an administrative and educational facility, this place of entry into the United States would serve to enhance the immigrant's arrival and adaptation to their new world. The complex would represent the freedoms provided by the Constitution, serving symbolically as a haven …
