Dr. Jeffrey Angles likes to describe himself as the accidental professor because, unlike many people he knows who planned to become teachers when they completed their educations, he was more focused on the immediate goal of studying Japanese literature and translating. In the process of reading so much, he says that he found himself with a Ph.D. almost before he knew it.

The first page of this edition includes a large article regarding the death of Cooper Larsh, a first year student who died tragically in a skiing accident in Colorado. Another article in this issue of the Voice focuses on the aftermath of the Fukushima nuclear plant meltdown in Japan following a large earthquake on March 11th. The earthquake was a 9.0 on the Richter scale and caused unimaginable destruction to Tokyo, Japan, and caused the meltdown of the Fukushima nuclear plant. Overall composition of the building consists of roof and transparent glass to enclose interior space with the aforementioned concrete block structure. There is no roof over the concrete blocks. Therefore rays of the sun pour over the blocks, and the reflection of the light shines inside the house. Furthermore, vines of various flowers will be planted along the block, changing breakwater-like structure to a hill of flower and greenery in the future.
