Hempstead County loose court records scrapbook, 1819-1940s
Scrapbook entitled "Historical Documents and Newspaper clippings of Historical Interest from Old Newspapers of Hempstead County, Arkansas. 1819" and "Hempstead County, Historical Records Survey, Lucile M. Carrigan, worker." This scrapbook includes photos of the Hempstead County Courthouses, and newspaper clippings, circa 1930s-1940s, as well as court documents, spanning 1821-1875, from Hempstead County, Arkansas. The scrapbook was compiled circa 1930s-1940s by Lucile M. Carrigan, a worker of the Historical Records Survey to document some of the history of Hempstead County, established in 1819. Loose documents were removed from the scrapbook by Arkansas State Archives staff in 2021 for conservation reasons, and …

Peysya Farberman’s Soviet passport, issued by the NKVD on December 28, 1940, prior to the German occupation in Kamianets Podilskyi, his home town in Ukraine. His passport shows him to be 18 at the time. Inside front cover bears a small identity photo and signature.
Farberman was a young Ukrainian Jew living in Kamianets Podilskyi during the early German occupation of the town. Farberman’s fate is unknown, but Kamianets Podilskyi was the site of an early massacre by the Nazis shortly after …
