The Basic Conflicts Of Christianity Versus Communism, James W. Zottnick May 1956

The Basic Conflicts Of Christianity Versus Communism, James W. Zottnick

Western Evangelical Seminary Theses

The issue presented in this study, briefly stated, is: What are the fundamental differences between Christianity and communism, which stand in bold contrast today?

The Christian would dare not be asleep during such agitated times as these. Various answers are being propounded to meet the Red Menace, but unless they contain Christ and the Christian dynamic, they will ultimately fail. To be uninformed or misinformed, is to be ill-equipped for the present struggle.

A Study Of The Relation Of Buildings And Equipment To The Teaching Process In The Children's Division, Glen E. Harris

Western Evangelical Seminary Theses

The Sunday school has come a long way in its comparatively short history. It has come a long way both in philosophy and housing. Because it is an organism of living persons, it has grown, developed, expanded, changed. With the passing of the years, there has been growing a greater reverence for the unfolding personality of the learning person. As a consequence, the pupil has come more and more to the forefront. Less attempt is being Fade to impose arbitrary teaching procedures as well as the content of a fixed curriculum upon the learner. A greater effort is being made …

Sunday School Supervision In The Local Church With Particular Reference To The Oregon Yearly Meeting Of Friends Church, M. Gene Hockett

Western Evangelical Seminary Theses

Following the regular routine of the Sunday School program with little plan for improvement is the mistake often made in the Sunday School. The writer desired to see the Sunday Schools of the Oregon Yearly Meeting receive proper supervision that they might operate as efficiently as possible.

The yalue of supervision was illustrated by Vieth when he stated:

Factories and commercial concerns recognize that at best they will run below one hundred percent efficiency. A corps of workers is employed to supervise what others are doing. These... do …

A Study Of The Problem Of Synergism In Relation To Salvation, Lynn H. Ostrander May 1956

A Study Of The Problem Of Synergism In Relation To Salvation, Lynn H. Ostrander

Western Evangelical Seminary Theses

"What must I do to be saved?" is a question which might well arise in the mind of an earnest seeker of salvation who has been under the influence of various types of preaching. This is due to the fact that there are two main and many mediating theories concerning the process by which salvation is attained. One of these major theories is that God is entirely responsible for man's salvation and the man himself can contribute nothing toward it. The other main theory is that man is responsible for accepting or rejecting the salvation that God offers. Between these …

A Proposed Program Of Better Training For Wesleyan Teachers, Thomas G. Porter Apr 1956

A Proposed Program Of Better Training For Wesleyan Teachers, Thomas G. Porter

Western Evangelical Seminary Theses

Church history has revealed that the very existence and influence of a given religious organization has depended largely upon the force and efficiency of its educational system. In the final analysis, the upward and increasing tread to liberalism and modernism in this century has been a direct result of an efficient educational program. On the other hand, the fundamental truths that Christ wanted the people of all generations to hear, accept, and live by have also been handed down to the present through a process of education. In both cases, effective education has been brought to pass through effective teaching; …
