Arterial Vascularization Of The Spleen In Merino Sheep, Melek Tosun, Şükrü Hakan Atalgin
Turkish Journal of Veterinary & Animal Sciences
In this study, it is aimed to reach detailed information about the anatomy of arteries in the sheep spleen, which can be used as an example and model for the success of planned or emergency surgical interventions related to the spleen. In spleen injuries, the spleen may be divided into two or three parts, or it may be limited to cracks on the spleen. In particular, it is aimed to protect the organs that have been damaged by trauma recently. Operations such as splenectomy and splenography are surgical procedures that require good knowledge of the pathways of artery and its …

Light And Scanning Electron Microscopic Examination Of The Saanen Goat Heart, Sedef Selvi̇ler Si̇zer, Yonca Beti̇l Kabak, Murat Kabak
Turkish Journal of Veterinary & Animal Sciences
It is important to know the morphological structure of the heart, which is a vital organ of the body, in detail. For this reason, we aimed to examine the morphological structure of the Saanen goat heart using light and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). A total of thirteen Saanen goat hearts were used in the study. To demonstrate the histological structure of the heart, samples taken from 9 hearts were fixed in 10% formaldehyde solution and blocked in paraffin after routine histological procedures. Histological staining was performed on the sections taken from the blocks. Four hearts were fixed in a 2.5% …

A Scanning Electron Microscope Examination Of Pomphorhynchus Laevis, Kader Yildiz, Külti̇ği̇n Çavuşoğlu
Turkish Journal of Veterinary & Animal Sciences
Pomphorhynchus laevis is an acanthocephala which lives in the intestines of fish. These acanthocephala are characterised by a cylindrical proboscis, and an extremely long neck with a bulbous anterior expansion. In this study, the surface structures of P. laevis were examined with a scanning electron microscope. On the proboscis of this parasite 18 hook rows, each consisting of 12 hooks, were observed. The anterior hooks were smaller than the posterior hooks of the proboscis. The recurved hooks were within pockets on the proboscis. The presoma structure was porous and there were no pores on the hooks. The metasoma structure was …
