To analyze patients with Castleman disease who were diagnosed by surgery. Materials and methods: We retrospectively investigated the postoperative pathological records of operations performed between January 1992 and December 2012 in our hospital. Files of 19 patients with the diagnosis of Castleman disease were analyzed. Results: There were 13 male and 6 female patients with a mean age of 40.1 ± 11.4 (range: 20-57) years. Fifteen thoracotomies and 3 video-assisted thoracoscopies, 12 on the right side and 6 on the left side, and 1 mediastinoscopy were performed. Crimean-Congo haemorrhagic fever (CCHF) generally affects many organs. In this study a retrospective evaluation of the pulmonary findings of CCHF patients was made. Materials and methods: The records of patients were retrospectively analysed. For each patient an evaluation was made of age, sex, occupation, place of residence, contact with ticks, smoking history, and pulmonary radiological and laboratory findings. A confirmed diagnosis of CCHF was made on determination by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay or polymerase chain reaction. Results: Of the 128 patients, 48.4% were female. Calcified fibrous pseudotumors can generally be detected as solitary masses in various regions of the body, and were first described in 1988. In this case report, we discuss an adult patient whose tumor was localized in the lung, which has not been reported in the literature before.
