The purpose of this thesis was to conduct a discourse analysis of conversational data from a radio station program in Southern California to see if the speakers' language displays hybridity theory. The radio program in question is unique because all speakers including the deejays and call in listeners do not exclusively speak English or Spanish but codemix or alternate between English and Spanish (Spanglish hereafter) during on-air conversations.

This study examines the religious and spiritual activities that held the most value for older males and females, gender differences in these salient activities, and how elders rank church related activities with the idea of acquiring an understanding of the effects these activities had for the elderly. This study employed an in-person survey that used qualitative and quantitative methods to explore religiosity and spirituality. Participants were representative of the Christian religious and spiritual church congregations of the Inland Empire area, San Bernardino County.

This study explored the relationship between Meaning of Work (MOW) in relation to the variables of age, cultural orientation, as well as the combined effect of age and cultural orientation. This study was conducted among 380 individuals in the form of an online survey. The survey to collect data for the study was hosted on www.qualtrics.com and a survey link was created. California State University San Bernardino's Sona-Systems (a research management system) was utilized to recruit students for the study and to award extra credit for research participation.

The purpose of this study was to identify parental perceptions on immunizations causing Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASDs), and identify whether or not these perceptions influenced whether or not a parent vaccinated their child. If parents are educated on vaccinations, and understand that numerous studies have been conducted proving immunizations do not cause autism, it may prevent a host of possible problems that may arise in the future.

The purpose of this study was to determine how various demographic and systemic factors interacted to either facilitate or hinder the acquisition of mental health treatment, and if once acquired, what effect did that treatment have on subsequent offending. Mental health treatment is viewed as an effective and cost effective way of reducing offending in this population. Unfortunately, research also indicates that many juveniles due to various demographic and systemic impediments, do not acquire the mental health treatment they need. Consequently, their symptoms deteriorate to the point they manifest as delinquent.

In this Positivist study, the researcher asked the question, what factors determine Social Workers' perceptions of consumers who receive mental health services. The study participants were Bachelor's and Master's of Social Work students. Results of the study suggested that education increased students' levels of stigma towards mental health consumers, but personal and mental health work experience did not influence levels of stigma.
