Set in India, this novel follows the narrator, sixteen-year-old Asha Mehtani, in her two-year struggle to decide between following tradition and following her own desires. Asha encounters an American teacher at her school who encourages her to read, to learn, and to follow her own path in life. This study examines the anxiety level of deaf high school students about their future education and careers upon graduating from high school at Anusamsunthorn School for the Deaf, Chiang Mai province, Thailand. The purpose of this pilot study is to explore levels of anxiety in deaf high school students about their future upon graduating from high school in both the deaf students who plan to work and those who plan to continue study. Anxiety is defined as deaf high school students' feelings of uncertainty as they approach graduation from high school. Twenty-nine deaf students participated in this study by responding …
