The language of poetry extends far beyond the creative writing classroom; song lyrics, Bible verses, instruction manuals, and even advertisements utilize the power of words to portray a message. Like an art portrait, everyone’s unique perception helps to create a larger sense of unity through diversity. Poets emphasize the many ways culture constructs varying opinions amongst the human race. At the University of Lynchburg, people of many different demographics share one common thread: the pursuit of community.
