Sports have always played an important role in children’s lives. American Youth Soccer Organization provides youth athletes the opportunity to participate in a soccer league that focuses on teaching good sportsmanship and player development. The purpose of this study was to assess fan behavior at middle school age female and male AYSO soccer games in San Luis Obispo. The subjects of this study were spectators (i.e. coaches and parents) of AYSO. The researcher and the research assistant attended six games during October 2010. The purpose of this study was to assess the marketing of selected Central Coast summer collegiate baseball teams and their relation to fan attendance. Sport marketing plays a vital role in industry because of the quantity of resources that are allocated to it. Sport spectator psychology was investigated to determine spectator attendance trends. Trends in sport marketing were examined to determine the current state of the industry. The data were collected from the Santa Barbara Foresters, San Luis Obispo Blues, and San Luis Obispo Rattlers. In 1990, the Americans with Disabilities Act was passed, prohibiting discrimination against individuals with disablements. In 1992, Cal Poly redesigned its Recreation Center to make it accessible for all students. However, few programs exist for this population. The purpose of the study was to conduct a needs assessment of Cal Poly recreational sports and programs for students with mobility impairments. In the spring of 2010, a survey was administered and analyzed. Participants indicated their desire to recreate in both inclusive and segregated settings, programs they prefer, and their lack of knowledge about currently offered programs (Activity4All). Senior projects are designed to provide college seniors with a capstone educational experience. While some colleges and universities require students to take on a thesis format of a senior project, others require an applied physical product, such as fieldwork. Studies recognize benefits and downfalls to both types of senior project formats. California Polytechnic State University’s Recreation, Parks, and Tourism Administration Department requires that students within the major complete a two-quarter research and development thesis assignment to fulfill a senior project. Teen programs in community recreation have seen a decline in participation in recent years. Adolescents present recreation professionals with the challenge of designing programs that are enjoyable and developmentally stimulating. The purpose of this study was to assess the motivations of San Luis Obispo adolescents to participate in community recreation programs. This study was conducted at Laguna Middle School in San Luis Obispo by conducting two focus groups, one with seventh grade students and the other with eighth grade students. Research shows the main factors that influence student attendance to performances are social status, motivation, and perception of time, whereas the main factors for attending sport games are team identification and social networking. The purpose of this study was to determine the factors that influence Cal Poly students’ decision in attending sporting games versus attending performances at the Performing Arts Center. The researcher collected data from 250 students in nine classrooms during Cal Poly’s Spring Quarter. Camp staff are the heart of summer camps and can affect how the summer runs. The purpose of this study was to identify the motivations for staff to work at residential summer camps with special regard to any differences in motivations between staff who attended camp as a camper and staff who never attended camp as well as between international and national staff. This study examined the definition of adventure tourism, theories of place attachment, and conducted a satisfaction and motivation survey for Non-Typical Outfitters (NTO). The purpose of this study was to determine the motivations, satisfactions, and place attachment factors when hunting with NTO. Zoomerang, an online survey company, was used to conduct the survey and further calculations were conducted through Microsoft Excel. Overall, NTO clients were all male, satisfied, had experienced other outfitters, and would return to hunt with NTO again.
