The purpose of this research study was to explore the effects of a strength training curriculum on middle and high school competitive dancers in a studio setting. Two research questions guided the study. Q1 What effects does a strength training curriculum in a studio setting have on middle and high school competitive and performance-based dancers’ technique, balance and stability, and body awareness?
Q2 In what ways can the curriculum be specifically targeted to meet the needs of dancers with a rigorous schedule?
