This study examines the availability and accessibility of Internet facilities in two Nigerian university libraries, the University of Ibadan and the University of Lagos. Three hundred copies of a questionnaire were administered to randomly-selected respondents, of which 280 (93.3%) were returned and found usable. The results showed that there is adequate Internet connectivity in the two libraries. Staff and students access the Internet with ease in their offices, hostels, and faculty libraries, and the two libraries render effective and timely services to users. The study looked at the factors that affect agricultural students’ use of the library. Simple random sampling was used to select 145 students. The data were analyzed using the probit model. Age was found to have a negative effect on the use of the library by students. Alternative to library have negative significant effect while library use with friend, availability of relevant materials and hours spent in the library have significant positive effect on the library use. The study examined the influence computer skills and locus of control on the utilization of Internet resources by undergraduate students in Nigerian universities. Data were collected through the use of questionnaire. A study sample of 201 students randomly selected from a federal, a state and a private university in Osun State were used for the study. The resulting data were analysed using percentages, tables, Pearson Correlation and t-test analysis at 0.05 level of significance. This study investigated the influence of availability, accessibility and use of library information resources on the teaching effectiveness of the teaching staff of schools of Nursing in Osun and Oyo States of Nigeria. The population used was the entire teaching staff of the eight (8) schools of Nursing in Osun and Oyo States. The research instruments used were questionnaires and observation. One hundred and fifty eight (158) questionnaires were distributed one hundred and forty seven (147) were returned giving a response rate of 93.04%. This study was conducted to investigate different aspects of library anxiety using a modified version of Multidimensional Library Anxiety Scale (Van Kampen, 2003). Participants were 123 M.A. students in the field of education and psychology at Shiraz University in Iran. The results indicated that 18% of students experience high levels of library anxiety. The result of ANOVA indicated that there is a significant correlation in all aspects of the library anxiety among students of different majors. Influence Of Locus Of Control And Job Satisfaction On Organizational Commitment: A Study Of Medical Records Personnel In University Teaching Hospitals In Nigeria, Bruno I. Igbeneghu, S. O. Popoola

The study examines the influence of work locus of control and job satisfaction on organizational commitment of medical records personnel in university teaching hospitals in Nigeria. The research design was the ex-post- facto. A total of 359 medical records personnel from federal and state university teaching hospitals in Nigeria participated in the study. The instrument for data collection was the questionnaire. The results of the study reveal that organizational commitment has a significant inverse relationship with work locus of control (r = -.131, P < 0.05), but has a significant positive relationship with job satisfaction (r = . 340, P < 0.05).The study also revealed that a combination of work locus of control and job satisfaction have significant influence on the organizational commitment of medical records personnel in university teaching hospitals in Nigeria. (F = 24.900, df = 2; 356, P < 0.05). A combination of work locus of control and job satisfaction have significant influence on the organizational commitment of medical records personnel in university teaching hospitals in Nigeria.

This article reports on research into the quality of critical thinking factors in research articles of Iranian researchers in library and information science (LIS) over a period of 10 years (1997-2007). The research method includes content analysis, a checklist built on Facion's critical thinking factors, and the international test of Paul and Elder. The collected data are analyzed by using descriptive, analytical, and deductive methods. The research population includes 138 research articles examined based on systematic stratified random sampling selected out of 521 articles. This study explores student preferences to library website vocabulary and compares the data with what librarians report on their library's website. Two questionnaires were distributed in the fall of 2009 to students (N=300) and librarians (N=527). Students were asked to identify the terms they prefer from a larger list of library website vocabulary. Librarians were asked to report the terms that were used on their library's website. Twenty-seven terms were selected for both the student and librarian questionnaires. The 27 terms were culled from library literature, library instruction classes, and reference desk interactions. Libraries library play an important role for students in their academic programme, Distance Learning students in University of Ibadan were studied to investigate their library habits and factors affecting use of libraries. Purposive sampling technique was adopted for this study to select 100 library registered distance learners from Faculties of Education and Social Sciences. Questionnaire, interview and observation were the instruments employed for the study.
