Violence, migration, and displacement shape postcolonial societies; they help in dividing colonised countries into geographical partitions. The political and communal aspects of the partition have individual and collective influences, particularly when it comes to the splitting of both Ireland and Palestine. This thesis in modern linguistics aims at clarifying the principles of pragmatic ideology through an invaluable declarative study of "Alkashaf" by the great linguist, grammarian and interpreter, Abul-Qasem Jaar-Allah Mahmoud Omar Al-Zamakhshari Al-Khawarezmi (467 AH/ 538 AH). It is a descriptive analytical study of applied pragmatics. This study consists of an introduction, preface, three chapters and a conclusion. The introduction clarifies the plan of the study, and determines its methodology. The preface includes the origin of pragmatics in Arabic studies and western studies, the definition of pragmatics, and the relation between pragmatics and other sciences. The main porous of this paper is twofold: 1) displaying how Sinclair’s model Of Extended Lexical Unit (ELU) could be operationalized to discover textual functions in Arabic Language, and 2) applying the (ELU) model to explore the collocational meaning and linguistic profile of IDEOLOGY, one of the most frequent and ambiguous concept in Arabic media discourse. Methodologically, the analysis is based on a written contemporary corpus of Arabic (WMCA), consisting of 100 million words, indexed in CQP, and using the statistical measure T-score to identify the significant collocations of Ideology.
