Georgetown Independent School District (GISD) has proposed the Parkside School Tract project where school facilities will be constructed southwest of Georgetown, Williamson County, Texas. GISD retained Terracon Consultants, Inc. to conduct a systematic, intensive pedestrian survey of the approximate 18.3-acre project area. Because GISD, a political subdivision of the State of Texas, sponsored the project, the proposed undertaking is subject to compliance with the Antiquities Code of Texas and oversight from the Texas Historical Commission (THC). On June 4, 2019, the Center for Archaeological Research (CAR) at The University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) conducted an archaeological assessment of four excavation pits located at the south side, or rear, of three historic buildings that are owned by GrayStreet Partners and are being rehabilitated. The buildings are part of a group of historic buildings located at the southwest corner of Dolorosa and S. Flores streets known as Kallison Square. The Port of Calhoun, LLC. is planning to construct a commercial facility for transporting and storing sand. The facility includes the construction of a number of onshore deadmen for barge mooring, a bulkhead for loading and unloading barges, buildings for sand storage, and an area for the disposal of dredge material. Because the project will involve the placement of fill within the ordinary high water mark of the Victoria Barge Canal, the project will require a permit from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Galveston District (Corps). On behalf of Texas Eastern Transmission, LP and Edge Engineering and Science, LLC., HRA Gray & Pape, LLC, of Houston, Texas, has completed a 100% pedestrian cultural resources survey and limited shovel testing of an estimated 4.5 kilometers (2.8 miles) of linear area in Refugio and Aransas Counties, Texas. Texas Eastern has identified several locations along the PETR to TIVO Segment of Line 16 that require replacement of aging pipe. One of the areas requiring maintenance work is identified as “Phase 1”, for which the archaeological survey was completed in May of 2015.

On behalf of Texas Eastern Transmission, LP and Edge Engineering and Science, LLC., HRA Gray & Pape, LLC, of Houston, Texas, has completed a 100% pedestrian cultural resources survey and limited shovel testing of an estimated 7.84 kilometers (4.87 miles) of linear area in Refugio and Aransas Counties, Texas. Texas Eastern has identified several locations along the PETR to TIVO Segment of Line 16 that require replacement of aging pipe. In late April, 2015, Archaeology Consultants, Inc., performed a cultural resources survey for the Donna Independent School District Aquatic Center and Walking Trail Project in Hidalgo County, Texas. About 6.65 acres was surveyed. The location of the project area within public school district property and within a region known to contain numerous archeological sites prompted the Texas Historical Commission to recommend the survey for compliance with the Antiquities Code of Texas. The Commission issued Texas Antiquities Permit 7163 for the survey.

In April 2006 the Center for Archaeological Research (CAR) of the University of Texas at San Antonio was contracted by the Parks and Recreation Department of the City of San Antonio to perform subsurface investigations within the boundaries of site 41BX1251, in north-central San Antonio, Bexar County, Texas. The purpose of the testing was to learn if the concrete abutment of a planned pedestrian bridge over Salado Creek would impact significant archaeological deposits in this site, which is a part of the Walker Ranch National Historic District.

Disturbances associated with the park are to include the construction of a parking lot, playground, pavilion, walking/jogging trail, ramps and traffic paths for wheelchair access to the park, and the installation of utility and drainage lines associated with these facilities. A tract of land in northern San Antonio was briefly examined by the Center for Archaeological Research (CAR), The University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA). Several prehistoric archaeological sites had previously been recorded and test excavated within or near the property. Remnants of two of those sites (41 EX 47 and 41 EX 231) within the study area were rediscovered and subjected to limited subsurface testing. At 41 EX 231, what are apparently well-preserved prehistoric cultural deposits were identified. Thus, it is recommended that additional intensive excavations be performed prior to any future disturbances at that site, or that …
