John Reinder Pelsma was a Professor of Public Speaking at the State Manual Training Normal School (now Pittsburg State University) 1920 - 1950. He taught students how to utilize different speaking styles through debate, extemporaneous speech, poems, and dramas. The collection contains correspondence, biographical information, education materials, writings by Pelsma and others, printed speeches and publications, clippings, photographs, and miscellaneous items. This collection focuses on Pelsma’s work at Pittsburg State University, with some documents relating to his previous spots of employment. A majority of the collection are his personal writings and the writings of others.

Family papers of the Skourup family, who lived near Pittsburg, Kansas since the 1860s. This collection focuses on the eldest daughter, Elnora, and contains correspondence, scrap and memory books, World War I items, publications, programs, photographs, clippings, and miscellaneous items. The collection gives an overview of local high school and college life during the World War I years, and the mid-1920s in Southeast Kansas. The collection does not contain much information about the Skourup family.

Beryl Lynn Lance Waterman was a Pittsburg State University alumnae who taught high school English in Duarte, California. In this collection, there are examples of notebooks on various domestic science subjects, materials that Waterman may have used in her teaching career, and publications by different departments within the United States government. There are, however, no biographical materials or correspondence, nor much information on her life after she graduated from PSU.

Mary Elizabeth Cochran taught history at Kansas State Teachers College, now Pittsburg State University from 1930 - 1962. She was born in 1891 in Fremont, Iowa and received her undergraduate degree from Missouri Valley College. She received her graduate degrees (including Ph.D) from the University of Chicago. Prior to coming to Pittsburg State University, she taught in junior colleges and public schools in Nebraska, Missouri, and Oklahoma. After her retirement from PSU in 1962, she taught for five years at Cumberland College in Williamsburg, Kentucky.

Elmina Graham was an English Professor at Kansas State Teacher’s College (KSTC), now Pittsburg State University. She and Frances Hashbarger founded the Epsilon Chapter of Theta Sigma Upsilon, and she also started the Sigma Alpha chapter for Sigma Tau Delta. This collection contains correspondence, travel diaries and memorabilia, scrapbooks, histories of Theta Sigma Upsilon and Sigma Tau Delta, photographs and personal items for her and Hashbarger.

The Lesley College Schools for Children collection contains catalogs produced annually and other records from the schools (the Carroll-Hall School, the Lesley-Dearborn School, and the Lesley-Ellis School) that the former Lesley College acquired. Each catalog contains a history of the school, information about faculty, admission, buildings, course descriptions, academic calendars, school policy, and tuition and expenses. The collection also contains a book of published poems from students in Lesley-Ellis Schools' creative writing class from 1958 - 1964.

Rosen Collection of Labor, Labor History, and Labor Education totals over 140 linear feet of papers (not including books), related to labor, labor history and education, unions, as well as Jewish culture, Chicago history, and Franklin Roosevelt and the New Deal. The original College of Law (also known as School of Law) began its operations in 1898 and was located in Bangor, Maine in a building at Exchange and State streets. The building and records were destroyed during the 1911 Great Fire of Bangor. Following the fire the School relocated to a house at the corner of Second and Union streets in Bangor (now known as the Farrar building.

In September 1975, the Board of Trustees of the University of Maine approved the creation of a School of Performing Arts in the College of Arts and Sciences. The society, "All Maine Women", was founded at the University of Maine in April, 1925. It is the highest honorary but non-scholastic society for women. The University of Maine first established an active development fund in 1959. Its efforts were directed by the University of Maine Development Council (which later became the President's Development Council). Funds raised by the Development Office were used for a range of activities including: library facilities, student financial aid, scholarships, graduate fellowships, chair and professorships, construction projects, and teaching equipment.
