Two current perspectives within Anglo-American Nietzsche studies are Nietzsche as radical aristocrat who supports the exploitation of the masses, and Nietzsche as thinker who revives the ancient understanding of philosophy as a way of life. A Hellenized Nietzschean way of life, however, shares the liberal concern for the suffering individual that the aristocratic Nietzsche condemns for contributing to modern decadence. This thesis reconciles the two interpretations by examining the way Nietzsche’s way of life is the condition of his politics. During the 1960s and 1970s, Ontario educators were concerned that the “sexual revolution” would encourage youths to engage in sexually promiscuous behaviour, become unwed mothers, and contract STIs. As parents were perceived as unreliable sex educators, school administrators and educators felt compelled to teach traditional sexual values, and the importance of the nuclear family through sexual education. This dissertation analyzes the creation and instruction of sexual education in physical and health education courses throughout the 1960s and 1970s in Ontario. Numerous problems in econometrics, insurance, reliability engineering, and statistics rely on the assumption that certain functions are monotonic, which may or may not be true in real life scenarios. To satisfy this requirement, from the theoretical point of view, researchers frequently model the underlying phenomena using parametric and semi-parametric families of functions, thus effectively specifying the required shapes of the functions. To tackle these problems in a non-parametric way, when the shape cannot be specified explicitly but only estimated approximately, we suggest indices for measuring the lack of monotonicity in functions. Pelican Lake Indian residential school, also known as Sioux Lookout Indian residential school, was an Anglican run institution that was a part of the Canadian residential school system; the school operated from 1926 to 1970. It is well established in the literature that the Department of Indian Affairs intended to evangelize, assimilate, and civilize its students, but the function of citizenship in the residential schools is less well known. Type 2 diabetes affects 90% of people who live with this chronic disease. A primary goal of healthcare professionals is to assist patients with Type 2 diabetes to achieve optimal glycemic control to prevent the devastating complications of this disease. Research has demonstrated that optimal glycemic control can minimize or prevent macrovascular complications such as heart attack or stroke and the microvascular complications of retinopathy, nephropathy, and neuropathy. ABSTRACT

The purpose of this mixed methods study was: (a) to assess nurses’ knowledge and self-efficacy of caring for clients experiencing delirium and those at risk of developing delirium in a hospital setting prior to and immediately after taking part in a clinical education session, and (b) to explore nurses’ experiences of applying knowledge from the education session to the practice setting. Objectives of the education session included reviewing risks, signs, symptoms, standardized screening tools, and management strategies for clients at risk for or experiencing delirium in a hospital setting.

Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) has come to be a way of being a person. In practical activities, concepts from various scientific paradigms come to be embodied. The categorical, yet historically transient, 'reality' of ADHD emerges from people's use of the classification to organize experiences of the behaviours, emotions and drugs associated with the category. This thesis explores how a group of teachers and principals from Sarnia, Ontario make sense of their role in the medicalization of childhood behaviours in relation to the classification ADHD.
