Examining The Influence Of Recovery Strategy And Rest Interval Length On Performance In Trained And Untrained Individuals, Neil Ryan Pettit

The purpose was to investigate the influence of recovery strategy (active vs. passive) and rest interval length (60 vs. 120 seconds) on performance after two high intensity interval training (HIIT) workouts with a battling rope (BR; ten 30 second intervals). Trained participants (9 male/11 female) completed a 4 week BR HIIT program while untrained participants (10 male/10 female) were new to BR protocol. There were no significant differences between pre- and post-test push up or sit up performance as a result of recovery strategy or rest interval length for both workouts. To estimate the changes of a particular organization under uncertainty is essential. “What-if” some employees leave the company suddenly? “What-if” some of the officers are hurt in a military action? To answer these type of questions, “Near-term analysis” (NTA) framework was previously introduced. It simulates the social dynamic within an organization, isolates the particular agents in it, and calculates the output with a degree called knowledge diffusion However, the drawback for such a tool is that it cannot produce agent interactions for a group size larger than 100. Stand-up comedy has been a major influence on American culture and has given the "Everyman" the ability to laugh at ourselves. Stand-up comedians have been performing in nightclubs, bars, clubs, and, most importantly, theatres for the past 60 years. Stand-up comedy can take many forms: a monologue of entertaining incidents that form a story, or a string of one-liners, or a succession of jokes. Critical intercultural communication (CIC) scholarship on hybridity emphasizes the necessity of examining hybrid performances within their cultural, political, and interpersonal contexts. Though telling, it overlooks a significant piece of the puzzle in understanding hybrid lived experience: how one feels in relation to an interaction, societal structure, or circulating discourse. This dissertation seeks to build an interdisciplinary bridge between CIC and affect theory with the purpose of emphasizing the importance of embodiment in the exploration and interpretation of hybrid performance. Depression is a prevalent public health problem, with approximately 6.4% of Americans suffering from the condition each year. Emerging adults are especially vulnerable to depression, as approximately 25% of individuals from age 18-25 have reported experiencing at least one depressive episode. Considering the literature is replete with studies examining etiological components of depression, it surprising that few studies have examined the role of intrapersonal resources in the onset and maintenance of depressive symptoms.
