In the context of broad historical, political and economic influences, this thesis examines how Tarabiin Bedouin women of the the South· Sinai perceive themselves in the complex of social relations that make up their daily lives. Through the methods of life history and participant observation the research finds that women value behavior and attitudes that conform with ideals of honor and yet express contadictory sentiments through poetry and in close emotional relationships .
