The internship included the design and installation of a pruning orchard for the Templeton High School Agriculture Department. This orchard will serve as a learning lab for students and promote a variety of Supervised Agriculture Experience projects. The internship included the acquisition of a variety of validation documents, plus the development of a school and community garden. The garden provides for hands-on student learning. Students involved in the project harvest the fresh produce and distribute it to families of students who do not have access to fresh produce. Some produce from the school garden was donated to the local food bank in the area. Teaching sustainable practices is essential to this educational program for students in the middle school.

The internship included the implementation and designing of the curriculum for an Agriculture and Soil Chemistry course. The internship also included the writing of a specialized grant and purchase of over $20,000 in data collection technology.
