Faculty of Business - Papers (Archive)

This study aims to explore the effects of: (1) the project characteristics of asset specificity, uncertainty and complexity on the performance of, and, the use of formal and social controls in inter-firm innovation projects, and, (2) the use of formal and social controls on the performance of inter-firm innovation projects. In addition, the mediating role of the use of formal and social controls in the relationships between the characteristics and performance of inter-firm innovation projects is also examined. Going Against The Grain: Exploring Opportunities For Novel Grains In The Australian Food Supply, Thomas George Simnadis

University of Wollongong Thesis Collection 2017+

Rather than being reliant on …

Multiple Perspectives On Understanding Innovation With It In An Early Childhood Education And Care Organisation, Melinda Ann Plumb

University of Wollongong Thesis Collection 2017+

Objective: To better understand how innovating with information technology (IT), conceptualised as a process of IT appropriation, unfolds within an early childhood education and care (ECEC) organisation.

Research questions: By developing two different theoretical frameworks based on two different ontologies, a set of five research questions were created to achieve the research objective. Firstly, by utilising a tri-perspective framework grounded in a substantialist ontology to investigate the IT appropriation process, the following three research questions are posed:

RQ1: What specific facilitators exist which support the appropriation of IT?

RQ2: What specific barriers exist which hinder the appropriation of IT?

RQ3: …

An Investigation Of The English Teaching Programme At Primary School In Vietnam In Relation To Implementing A Curriculum Innovation, Thi Bich Diep Khuong

University of Wollongong Thesis Collection 2017+

Since its introduction to second language teaching, the Communicative Language Teaching approach (CLT) has become a worldwide approach and focal point in second and foreign language education policy in many countries (Butler 2011; Nguyen and Nguyen 2007; Littlewood 2007). In Vietnam, it has been officially presented in the curriculum for English language teaching in secondary schools released by the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) since 2006 (Tran, 2015), and implemented in a curriculum for English language education in primary schools.

This thesis investigates how English teachers in a Vietnamese context implement the English teaching programme for primary schools designed …
