Research Of Surface-Oxidation Epitaxy Of Nio Films On Cube Textured Ni Tapes, Dongqi Shi, Mihail Ionescu, Jeff Mckinnon, Wu Ming Chen, S. X. Dou

Faculty of Engineering - Papers (Archive)

Thin films of NiO were fabricated in air by surface-oxidation epitaxy (SOE) on biaxially-textured Ni substrate, for use as buffer layers for YBCO coated conductors. The surface-oxidation conditions such as the temperature and the reaction time, as well as the cooling rate, playa determining role in the process of epitaxial growth of the NiO layer. A continuous, biaxially-aligned textured NiO layer, was obtained for a 10 min oxidation in air at 1120°C,and acooling rate of 150 Klh. The roughness of the NiO layer is mostly controlled by a coarsening of some NiO grains .

Occupational Therapy Research Priorities In Mental Health, Michelle Bissett, Anne Cusick, Lynne Adamson Jan 2002

Occupational Therapy Research Priorities In Mental Health, Michelle Bissett, Anne Cusick, Lynne Adamson

Faculty of Social Sciences - Papers (Archive)

This study used a Delphi survey method to identify research priorities of occupational therapists working in mental health. Twenty-two subjects were initially surveyed for their suggestions regarding research topics they thought were important. These 22 subjects represent a random sample of 12.4% of national OT-Australia membership of occupational therapists working in mental health. After three "rounds" of the Delphi methodology, consensus research priorities were obtained in six areas: research of value to clients (5 topics); research of value to occupational therapists working in mental health (4 topics); research related to providing community care for clients (2 topics); research that facilitates …

A Flexible Computer-Controlled Experimental Power Source For Welding Research, Dominic Cuiuri, John Norrish, Christopher David Cook Jan 2002

A Flexible Computer-Controlled Experimental Power Source For Welding Research, Dominic Cuiuri, John Norrish, Christopher David Cook

Faculty of Engineering - Papers (Archive)

Control of the Gas Metal Arc welding process is becoming increasingly sophisticated, due to improvements in technology and a better understanding of the process itself. To effectively conduct research in this area, it is necessary to have equipment that is extremely flexible in both architecture and operation. Experimental power sources and a welding test facility have been developed at the University of Wollongong which meet these criteria. The core time-critical control functions are performed by an independent digital signal processor (DSP). Non time-critical functions such as data storage and operator interface are performed by a desktop personal computer. Both computing …

This extended study, with both quantitative and qualitative elements, was designed and carried out in 1999-2000 to collect baseline data on refugee women's experiences, expressed needs and perspectives of the existing care services in order to inform the development of relevant maternity care policies for this vulnerable group and to plan models of best practice for the future.

A Principled Basis For Psychological Research: Book Review Of Praetorius On Cognition-Action, Daniel Hutto Jan 2002

A Principled Basis For Psychological Research: Book Review Of Praetorius On Cognition-Action, Daniel Hutto

Faculty of Law, Humanities and the Arts - Papers (Archive)

Praetorius' book advocates a healthy review and reform of the basic assumptions of much general theorising in psychology. Her central concern is to supply reasons of principle to demarcate the psychological and stave off reductionism. She seeks to derive these results from a handful of principles that she holds must be accepted since they form the very grounds for engaging in any inquiry at all. She employs these to good effect by showing that a number of prominent targets engaged in psychological theorising, including Gibson, Marr, Saussure, Stich and Fodor, are prey to deep-seated confusions about the general relation between …
