Feasibility Study Of Sustainable Energy Alternatives To Power Remote Communities In Northern Ontario, Mudit Nijhawan Oct 2019

Feasibility Study Of Sustainable Energy Alternatives To Power Remote Communities In Northern Ontario, Mudit Nijhawan

Electronic Theses and Dissertations

Remote communities in the North of Ontario survive in isolation as their distance to the southern industrial and electrical sector of the province limits their accessibility to the major southern grid. The lack of grid connection has led to antiquated methods of power generation, which pollute the environment and deplete the planet of its natural resources. One solution to these problems is the storage of electricity as hydrogen gas through electrolysis. This work determined the feasibility of introducing clean energy alternatives and provided a fuel blend option consisting of solar, wind, and hydrogen energy sources. To determine a fuel blend …

1d Modelling And Analysis Of Thermal Conditioning Systems For Electric Vehicles, Carlo Ciacci

Electronic Theses and Dissertations

The limited driving range, due to the poor storage capability of electric batteries, represents one of the greatest challenges in the development of electric vehicles. This concern leads to an extremely demanding design of every component within the vehicle powertrain in order to achieve their maximum energy efficiency and decrease the demand on the battery. Additionally, in cold climate conditions, the efficiency of the heating system of an electric vehicle decreases and it can result in further reducing its driving range. In this thesis, 1D modelling in Amesim will be used to analyze different concepts of thermal management for an …
