German And Swiss Colonization In Morgan County, Tennessee, Hobart Schofield Cooper
Masters Theses
Preface
It is frequent occurrence that certain phases of the development of history escape even the most observant writers of history. In some cases facts overlooked and unrecorded are of negligible importance. In others, these unrecorded incidents leave a flaw, as it were, in the logical trend of historical events. Likewise, incidents of seeming local interest in extent when properly interpreted and coordinated often prove of inestimable value in the light of historical account. It is with a view of presenting a new hitherto unmentioned event in the history of Tennessee that the subject of this thesis was selected.

The Evolution Of The Public School System In Tennessee, John Taliaferro Rennolds
The Evolution Of The Public School System In Tennessee, John Taliaferro Rennolds
Masters Theses
(From Introduction)
It is my purpose here, as far as possible, to trace and interpret the educational trend of the public mind in this state and the legislation which was its outcome; also the results, as far as the records make them appear, of this legislation in its practical application and its effects upon public opinion, which again was reflected in the legislation. We shall attempt to follow, as nearly as the meager records, especially before the Civil War, will permit, the trial and error method which has characterized the development of the schools of our State.
A History Of The Cherokee Indians Of The Tennessee Region From 1783 To 1794, Ralph Walter Frost
A History Of The Cherokee Indians Of The Tennessee Region From 1783 To 1794, Ralph Walter Frost
Masters Theses
Preface: The purpose of this thesis is to narrate the relationships that existed between the settlers and the Cherokee Indians occupying particularly what is now the State of Tennessee, with special attention to the character of both powers as brought forth by their contact with each other, and to the policies of each toward the other. The years 1783 to 1794 form an important period in the history of the United States and also the history of the Tennessee region. The Nation was in a state of confusion. The Continental Congress constituted the National power during most of these years …
The Feed Cost Of Producing Milk, Theodore Goodloe Hinton
The Feed Cost Of Producing Milk, Theodore Goodloe Hinton
Masters Theses
Though this problem of the cost of producing milk has been on worked on extensively in a number of states, very little has been done in the South, particularly in Tennessee. Anyone well acquainted with dairy feeding conditions in this state knows that there is an abundance of room for improvement. The production of the average Tennessee cow is low, and due mainly to poor cows, poor feeding and poor handling.
Realizing these things it was thought worth while to do some work toward determining the feed cost, or mere strictly speaking, the pounds of the several different classes of …

The Sugar Content Of Blood, Ben King Harned
The Sugar Content Of Blood, Ben King Harned
Masters Theses
Summary and Conclusions:
1 We have shown that the picric acid methods are not accurate.
2. We have shown that the titrimetric methods are not adapted to clinical use.
3. We have demonstrated that the Folin-Wu method, which gives the same results
as the titrimetric methods, and is the most accurate method used in clinics,
gives results approximately 15 per cent too high, because of interfering
substances.
4. We have developed a mercuric nitrate method, specific for blood sugar by
virtue of the fact that it precipitates interfering substances before making the
determination.
5. We have developed an acetone method, …
