This study looks at the effect that the relationship between church and state has on the people of Norway and the United States. It is a study of political culture and socialization that compares the role of the established state church in Norway to the "Wall of Separation" that exists in the United States; Public opinion data is obtained from the World Values Survey and presented in terms of the current Accommodationist/Separationist debate. The most important variable in determining issue attitudes turns out to be whether or not a person attends church regularly, and not their denominational identity. The study …
