This study was conducted to determine if males and females differ in their perceptions of the communication competencies of women and men managers. A total of 101 employees from a midwestern, Fortune 500 company participated in this study through completion of a questionnaire. 54 of the respondents were female and 47 were male. Two questionnaires were used: one pertaining to women managers, and one pertaining to men managers. Each of the questionnaires had both male and female respondents. This study combines Ernest Bormann's fantasy theme analysis with content analysis to create a new methodology. The newly created methodology uses a data set to create a highly detailed story from which the portrayal of fantasy themes and their evolution into rhetorical visions can be analyzed. This study used this methodology to depict the fantasy themes setting, persona, and plot line created by World Herald newspaper coverage about the Franklin Credit Union between the years of 1969 and 1990. Freedom of expression is a fundamental concern for all artists who seek to create and exhibit their works. Throughout history, the church, government, other institutions, and those with personal power over artists, have attempted to suppress artistic expression. In many instances of censorship, the works in question did not conform to perceived standards of taste and decency. In other cases, art was suppressed or destroyed in an effort to squelch political criticism. The First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution guarantees freedom of expression to all Americans. However, the right to artistic freedom is not absolute. The U.S. Supreme Court has …
