A comparative study was performed based on scientific metrics for the year 2019 for the top 100 open access journals (OAJ) extracted from the web of science. The considered bibliometric indicators are Journal Impact Factor (JIF), Eugene Factor Score (ES), Scimago Journal Ranking (SJR), Source Normalized Impact per Paper (SNIP), Cite Score (CS), Google Scholar (GS), and H5 index. This study shows that journals have different ranks compared with their metrics of the various scientific indicators. SCI mago is the Journal and Country Ranking database available freely on the internet. We have accessed the required data from 2008 to 2017 from this database and evaluated the research productivity of SAARC countries and citations in the field of social science subject. This article studied SAARC countries publications, citations, citations per document, self-citations and degree of self – citations. The study revealed that on an average 6054 articles are published during the study period. The current study conducted to quantify the research contribution of Library and Information Science (LIS) women faculty of India between 1988 and 2018. The study prepared an inclusive list of Indian universities offering LIS education by visiting its official websites individually and collected the names and other details of the LIS women faculties engaged in the teaching profession. The bibliographical data were extracted from the Scopus database during the year 1988-2018. Finally, a total of 146 research articles published by 38 LIS women faculty in India.
