Insights Into The Adsorption Of Pb(Ii) Over Trimercapto-S-Triazine Trisodium Salt-Modified Lignin In A Wide Ph Range, Qiaorui Wang, Chunli Zheng, Fei He, Yuan Yao, Tian C. Zhang, Chi He

Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering: Faculty Publications

A novel fabrication method for modifying alkaline lignin (AL) was reported, in which trimercapto-s-triazine trisodium salt was used as a modifier to tune surface properties of AL. Molecular structure of modified AL (FAL) was determined by 3D-EEM, synchronous fluorescence, FTIR, 13C MAS NMR and XPS. Two-dimensional correlation spectroscopy and electron localization function demonstrated that both of electrostatic and coordinate bonds formed between these functional groups and Pb(II) at higher pH of 3.0 to 6.0 while only coordinate bond at lower pH of 0.2 to 1.2. The higher the solution pH was, the stronger the adsorption capacity of FAL had. The …

Pine-Wood Derived Nanobiochar For Removal Of Carbamazepine From Aqueous Media: Adsorption Behavior And Influential Parameters, Mitra Naghdi, Mehrdad Taheran, Rama Pulicharla, Tarek Rouissi, Satinder K. Brar, M. Verma, R. Y. Surampalli Jan 2019

Pine-Wood Derived Nanobiochar For Removal Of Carbamazepine From Aqueous Media: Adsorption Behavior And Influential Parameters, Mitra Naghdi, Mehrdad Taheran, Rama Pulicharla, Tarek Rouissi, Satinder K. Brar, M. Verma, R. Y. Surampalli

In recent years, application of biochar for removal of pollutants from aqueous solutions has been of interest due to favorable physicochemical properties and availability of feedstock. However, adsorption behavior has been reported only for raw and micro biochar particles and taking advantage of biochar nanoparticles, which offer superior specific surface area, did not receive any attention. The objective of this study was to investigate the adsorption efficiency of produced nanobiochar from pinewood. For this purpose, removal of carbamazepine (CBZ), a globally prescribed pharmaceutical, at very low concentrations (0.5–20 ppb) on as-produced nanobiochar with average particle size of 60 nm was …

Due to its wide occurrence in water resources and toxicity, pharmaceuticals and personal care products are becoming an emerging concern throughout the world. Application of residual/waste materials for water remediation can be a good strategy in waste management as well as in waste valorization. Here in, this dataset provides information on biochar application for the removal of emerging contaminant, diclofenac from water matrices. The data presented here is an extension of there search article explaining the mechanisms of adsorption diclofenac on biochars(Lonappan et al., 2017[1]). This data article provides general information on the surface features of pine wood and pig manure …
