A Case Study And National Database Report Of Progressive Systemic Sclerosis And Associated Conditions, David Phillips, Barbara Phillips, David M. Mannino

We report the case of a 34-year-old white woman with a history of progressive systemic scleroderma (PSS) and diffuse alveolar hemorrhage (DAH) that may be either a rare complication of PSS or induced by D-penicillamine. The DAH progressed to hemoptysis and led to intubation for airway protection. The patient progressed to acute renal failure. Her chest x-ray revealed diffuse bilateral infiltrates. She developed pulmonary fibrosis with secondary pulmonary hypertension. She experienced a brief period of improvement of her respiratory status after steroid treatment. Kentucky Transportation Center Research Report
The purpose of this study was to continue the efforts begun in 1997 to monitor Kentucky public opinion regarding the quality of the highway system and also include a portion to measure satisfaction with the current drivers' license and registration renewal processes. Kentucky's 1998 public opinion is compared to data collected in 1997 to gage Kentucky's progress over the past year, and is compared to the NQI Survey done on the national level to show how Kentuckian's opinions compare to those nationwide.

This Article addresses some of the family law developments occurring since the Kentucky Law Journal last published a Kentucky law survey. Space limitations preclude discussion of every post-1985 change. Instead, this Article focuses on general trends, significant cases, and legislative developments.
Inquiry into family law developments in Kentucky is timely, not only because of the social importance of family relations, but also because of other contemporaneous efforts at family law reform. The American Law Institute ("ALl") is currently considering a final draft of principles governing family dissolution. That draft, and the discussions that surround its ultimate acceptance or rejection by …
