Soil From Footwear Is A Newly Rediscovered Type Of Forensic Evidence Due To The Application Of Modern Analytical Techniques : A Review, Rhilynn Haley Ogilvie
Soil From Footwear Is A Newly Rediscovered Type Of Forensic Evidence Due To The Application Of Modern Analytical Techniques : A Review, Rhilynn Haley Ogilvie
Legacy Theses & Dissertations (2009 - 2024)
Traces of soil discovered on a footwear were historically among the first types of evidence used by crime scene investigators. This type of evidence has been rediscovered recently due to the application of powerful analytical techniques providing quantitative characteristics of the soil (bio)chemical composition. Advanced statistical analysis of the quantitative data further improves the probative value of the soil evidence. The article overview main aspects of the emerging techniques for the forensic soil analysis and the factors that challenge data interpretation including mixing, contamination, and composition complexity. Overcoming these issues is crucial for utilizing soil analysis for forensic purposes.
Using Social Media Analytics: The Effect Of President Trump’S Tweets On Companies’ Stock Performance, Eric A. Fenn
Using Social Media Analytics: The Effect Of President Trump’S Tweets On Companies’ Stock Performance, Eric A. Fenn
Accounting
With the recent political development in the United States I was presented with a unique opportunity to examine social media’s influences on the stock market. Specifically, I analyzed the impact of tweets from President Trump’s official Twitter accounts from his election to the office to February 1st, 2019 that targeted a publicly traded company. I find that these tweets have a very minimal effect on companies’ stock prices, but there is a significant effect on the stocks’ trading volumes.
A Translation And Analysis Of Japan’S Seminal Lesbian Studies Work, Indiana Scarlet Brown
A Translation And Analysis Of Japan’S Seminal Lesbian Studies Work, Indiana Scarlet Brown
East Asian Studies
I translated Kakefuda Hiroko’s seminal lesbian studies book “‘Rezubian’ de aru to iu koto” 「レズビアン」である、ということ (On Being a ‘Lesbian’) in order to critically analyze her assertions and theories. This publication made a great impact in Japan during the 1990s by alleviating feelings of isolation and catalyzing the expansion of media specifically geared toward sexual minorities. I chose to analyze this text as well as Judith Butler’s Gender Trouble for each author’s nuanced interrogation of how their readers can reconsider and challenge the realities we may take for granted. In this project, I seek to add to my understanding of what …
Lipschitz Estimates On Weakly Pseudoconvex Domains, Daniel Smitas
Lipschitz Estimates On Weakly Pseudoconvex Domains, Daniel Smitas
Legacy Theses & Dissertations (2009 - 2024)
Given an arbitrary pseudoconvex domain D in C^n, in general, one cannot construct an integral kernel using holomorphic support functions. Here we consider an integral kernel, defined for weakly pseudoconvex domains, that while not holomorphic, does display related properties. We examine the transform defined by this kernel, Tf, on the Holder spaces we inspect how tangential vector fields apply to Tf.
The Effects Of Task Properties And Cognitive Strategy On Performance : Application To A Personnel Selection Task In Government Organization Context, Do Suk Lee
Legacy Theses & Dissertations (2009 - 2024)
This research attempts to increase understanding of how judgmental performance in a personnel evaluation task is influenced by task properties and cognitive strategy. The study relies on Cognitive Continuum Theory (CCT) which is based on Social Judgment Theory (SJT). CCT argues that performance is a function of correspondence between cognitive strategies and task properties.

Analysis Of Banding In 26-27 December 2010 East Coast Blizzard, Sara Ganetis
Analysis Of Banding In 26-27 December 2010 East Coast Blizzard, Sara Ganetis
Atmospheric & Environmental Sciences
Blizzard conditions occurred in the New York City metropolitan area and portions of adjacent southern New England on 26-27 December 2010 in conjunction with a strong coastal cyclone. Parts of New Jersey received over 80 cm of snow while Long Island and coastal Connecticut observed wind gusts of over 30 ms-1. The heaviest snow was concentrated along a north-south oriented mesoscale snowband that extended from coastal New Jersey northward through the New York City metropolitan area. This mesoscale snowband, which remained quasi-stationary for approximately 12 h, was associated with strong low and mid-level frontogenetical forcing. In addition to the primary …
