Somatic embryogenesis is a powerful tool for clonal propagation and plant breeding in many plant species, but its application is limited by the genotype response based on the interaction between gene expression and culture conditions. In this context, the recalcitrance of the nonembryogenic cherry rootstock Prunus cerasus cultivar CAB 6P was investigated via the analysis of the candidate genes PiABP19, Picdc2, and PiSERK3 in comparison with the embryogenic genotype Prunus incisa cultivar N°131. A Novel Phytoene Synthase Paralog From Halophytic Salicorniaconfers Salinity Tolerance In Plants, Nazia Rehman, Muhammad Ramzan Khan, Ghulam Muhammad Ali

Salicornia seems to be a suitable euhalophyte for the study of salt stress resilience mechanism and exploitation of salinity-tolerant genes for crop yield improvement. In this study, we cloned a novel SePSY1 gene from an extremely salt-tolerant glycophyte, Salicornia europaea. The sequence analysis revealed that the newly isolated gene is a paralog of PSY, suggesting a gene duplication event in Salicornia. The newly isolated gene encodes a protein of 419 amino acids. The C-terminus containing a Trans-IPPS-H domain with catalytic and binding regions exhibits considerable conservation in various species, while the N-terminus remained divergent. Vitamin E is a group of compounds that includes metabolites known as tocopherols, which have high antioxidant activities. Tocopherols are synthesized in plants, and their beneficial effects on human health have been reported for diseases such as coronary heart disease and cancer. Here we report the full-length transcripts encoding vitamin E biosynthetic enzymes from fruit mesocarp tissues using the rapid amplification of cDNA ends (RACE) method for the first time in olives. DNA microarray experiments are frequently used because they have various advantages. However, gene expression data from DNA microarray experiments are noisy, and, consequently, the computations that are based on such noisy data may lack accuracy. In this paper, an evolutionary uncertain data-clustering algorithm, E-MFDBSCAN, and a prediction model using E-MFDBSCAN for uncertain data are proposed. The proposed methodology may be successfully applied to noisy gene expression data. In this methodology, global patterns of time series data can be extracted using our evolutionary clustering approach. These patterns are used to infer future projections. The phytohormone auxin is a critical signal molecule, regulating fundamental processes in plant growth and development, such as shaping the root and shoot architecture, organ patterning, and nodulation. Auxin regulates plant gene expression mainly through auxin response factors (ARFs), which bind to auxin response elements in the promoter, upstream of auxin-activated genes. To explore the role of thyroid hormones in organ remodeling during the metamorphosis of amphibians, the cDNAs of two thyroid hormone receptors (TRα and TRβ) in Rana chensinensis were identified. The 1257 bp of rcTRα cDNA encoding 418 amino acids and the 1122 bp of rcTRβ cDNA encoding 373 amino acids were cloned. Their polypeptide sequences contain two highly conserved cysteine-rich zinc fingers in the DNA-binding domain, while rcTRβ is 42 amino acids shorter in its A/B domain when compared with rcTRα.
