Freshwater Algal Diversity Of The South-Tajik Depression In A High-Mountainous Extreme Environment, Tajikistan, Sophia Barinova, Maryio Boboev, Hikmat Hisoriev
Turkish Journal of Botany
The research on algal communities' response to altitude and altitude-related climatic conditions is sparse. So far, a full, accessible list of algae from the water bodies of the South-Tajik Depression has not been available. We compiled an algal species list of 1190 taxa that were revealed by us or listed in references in the South-Tajik Depression high-mountain rivers Kafirnigan, Vakhsh, Kyzylsu, Yakhsu, and Tairsu and in the lakes of its basin. The altitude gradient of the studied area is about 2500 m above sea level. An altitude-related algal diversity analysis was done with help of statistics and bioindication. The Willis …

This paper presents the results of a faunistic study of the macrozoobenthos of the Velika Morava River. The investigation was conducted during the summer and autumn months in 2010. A total of 84 macroinvertebrate taxa have been identified, with Insecta (Ephemeroptera) as the most diverse and Oligochaeta as the most abundant groups. A tubificid worm, Limnodrilus hoffmeisteri, was the most important species with regard to relative abundance and frequency of occurrence. Two rare and endangered species, Theodoxus transversalis and Unio crassus, were recorded, as well as 5 alien species. Locality VM4 (Markovac Bridge) is of particular interest as the northernmost …
Genetic Diversity And Relationships Within And Among Onobrychis Species Using Molecular Markers, Mohammad Zarrabian, Mohammad Mahdi Majidi
Genetic Diversity And Relationships Within And Among Onobrychis Species Using Molecular Markers, Mohammad Zarrabian, Mohammad Mahdi Majidi
Turkish Journal of Botany
Little is known about the taxonomic relationships of the genus Onobrychis (Fabaceae). To study inter- and intraspecific variations and the relationships among the species, 102 accessions (33 species) of the genus Onobrychis were evaluated using 22 inter-simple sequence repeat (ISSR) markers. Almost all the species belonging to the section Onobrychis clustered together. A similar pattern was found with the species belonging to the section Hymenobrychis, while those of the section Lophobrychis did not cluster together. The results indicate that the section Lophobrychis has a comparatively derived organization that can be attributed to the differences in their taxonomic delimitation. Geographical pattern …
