This action research sought to answer "What impact does a teacher's insight about transition and attachment theory (Bowlby, 1982) have on a toddler's transition into a new school?" The research was conducted in a Montessori school in Connecticut with 4 teachers, 11 new toddlers, and 11 parents. The researcher intervened with a teacher focus group examining their belief about transition. This action research investigated how integrating practical life exercises and self-regulation lessons could foster emotion regulation in lower elementary children. Twenty First and Second grade students in a public Montessori school participated in this four-week study. Quantitative data tools included students’ feelings self assessments, parent questionnaire, feelings check-in, and tallies of student behavior. This action research project studied how student-created formative assessments in mathematics would affect student confidence and perceived math ability. Students participated in a four-week study. The researcher conducted this study in September and October of 2021. The seven participating students were from an Upper Elementary classroom in a private Southern California Montessori school. The intervention consisted of a student-constructed survey taken weekly and a group analysis of the anonymized data collected from the said survey. The purpose of this action research self-study was to determine the effects of a sustainable self-care practice on the resilience of an unemployed, mid-career Montessori early childhood teacher. This 4-week intervention consisted of twenty 20-minute sessions with meditation, yoga, and/or inspirational readings. Data was measured using a pre- and post-resilience survey, a daily adjective checklist, and a daily reflective journal. An increase in resilience was demonstrated by the resilience survey and self-assessed in journal entries, suggesting that taking time each day for personal self-care can positively impact resilience. The focus of this action research project was to implement social-emotional learning (SEL) lessons to help promote positive behaviors in the classroom. Participants in the six week study included 16 first graders and 21 fourth graders, in two different classrooms, in Central Minnesota. During the intervention both classrooms participated in daily morning meetings, constructed classroom norms, weekly journals and SEL lessons. Participants included seventeen 11th and 12th-grade Psychology students from a rural, midwestern high school. Students utilized rehearsal practice, ungraded quizzes, and metacognitive reflection over 14 weeks of hybrid and distance learning models during the COVID-19 pandemic. This action research study worked to determine how mastery experience, vicarious learning, and expert role models impacted the engineering self-efficacy of 113 6th grade science students. The students participated in a 3-week unit designing toy cars in small groups with lessons planned to improve their self-efficacy. The students were surveyed before and after the unit to show how their efficacy changed. This action research project focused on determining the effects peer-to-peer collaboration has on 8th-grade students in a middle school science classroom. The intervention took place over six weeks in two classrooms, whose learning models changed between hybrid and distance learning due to the COVID-19 pandemic of 2020-2021. For this study, researchers collected data through a pre and post-intervention science self-efficacy questionnaire and digital journal, and twice-weekly exit tickets. This paper describes how to identify students struggling with word recognition and provides a model for supporting these readers. This study explores the impacts of small-group discourse on an eighth-grade algebra course. Participants of the study are 31 eighth grade students in an urban charter school. Data was collected using pre- and post-assessments, observational tracking, classroom discourse rubric, and student journaling. Data was collected over eight weeks. Results showed growth in assessment scores using pre- and post-assessments. There was an increase in class participation, observed through anecdotal notes. Also, using a discourse rubric, student groups increased their scores on questioning and evaluating mathematical concepts. "Abstract The purpose of this investigation was to study the impact of extended recess with loose parts play on student self-regulation at recess and on-task behavior after recess. The population for this action research study were students in grades one through three at a public Montessori elementary school in the Lower Mainland of British Columbia during a Covid-restricted school year. The intervention involved 45-60 minutes of extended recess with access to loose parts play for three weeks.
