An Evaluation Of The Moody Bible Institute Ministry Based Partnership As A Ministry Training Tool, Danny Ray Cochran

The purpose of this project is to determine the feasibility of churches partnering with theological institutions to offer college-level ministry training in the local church. The Ministry Based Partnership of Moody Bible Institute that was a ministry at Holly Creek Baptist Church for four years is used as the model for evaluation. Student questionnaires are used to evaluate the effectiveness of this program. The Biblical basis for an equipping ministry in the local church is examined. The effectiveness of distance learning programs is examined using literature from the field of education. Conclusions are developed using information from the previous processes.

This study evaluated the impact that the 40 Days of Purpose had on personal spiritual development of the participants. The experimental group was comprised of 163 volunteers recruited from three different churches participating in the 40 Days of Purpose. Two of the churches, a Baptist and an Assembly of God are located in a small town in East Texas, while the remaining Baptist church is located in a metropolitan city in North Carolina. This research study used current molecular orbital theory and UNIX desktop computer workstations running the PSI suite of programs developed by Dr F. Schaefer group of the Center for Computational Quantum Chemistry at the University of Georgia to investigate the structures and characteristics of several hypothetical hydrogen-lithium compounds. The researcher, a physics professor with no background in computational quantum chemistry, and very limited chemistry background, experienced this project much like an upper-level undergraduate science or mathematics major. This dissertation study proposal is two-fold: (1) to present the basic principles, which underlie the methods of interpretation, and to demonstrate that these principles determine one’s eschatological position. This dissertation research will demonstrate that the grammatical-historical principles of hermeneutics are the only sensible methods to be used to comprehend the Scriptures, and (2) to research, investigate and analyze the events of the seven seals, the seven trumpets, and the seven vials of Revelation, as they relate to the seventieth week of Daniel’s prophecy comparing them with the teachings of Jesus in the Olivet discourse.

The No Child Left Behind (NCLB) Act of 2002 mandated teacher certification criteria and accountability for student academic growth for all public schools, including charter schools. At the time of this study, Arizona had 464 charter schools and was one of three states and the District of Columbia that did not require charter schools to employ certified teachers. This quantitative study examined the effect of teacher certification status on student reading achievement and the relationship between teaching style and student reading achievement in Arizona charter schools. Much of current evangelical pulpit ministry has veered away from the style and content demonstrated by Jesus in His preaching and teaching. The purpose of this project is to encourage pastoral preachers and teachers to prepare and practice their preaching and teaching according to the model provided by Jesus as revealed in the Gospels. Based on an examination of available literature concerning Jesus’ ministry as a communicator, and interviews with leading evangelical pastors, the project offers personal perspectives and practical advice concerning greater effectiveness in pastoral preaching and teaching by using Jesus as a model.

The project covers the church planting methods of four counties in Southwest Virginia. The purpose of the project is to look at the changing culture of Southwest Virginia, review the approaches being used in planting churches in this area, and develop a future plan to plant and transition churches. The writer’s personal experience, consultations with clergy and laity, and a review of current literature reveal a lack of genuine discipleship in the modern church. The purpose of the project is to develop a usable Biblical model of a disciple, and to develop a measuring instrument by which conformity to this model may be determined in the lives of individual Christians. The project details the creation of the model and the instrument, and then documents the field testing of the instrument in various churches and other venues, with resulting evaluation and improvement to the instrument.

A review of the current literature reveals much material on the topic of contemporary worship, but little that focuses on the practical steps for implementing contemporary worship in a local church. The purpose of this project is to develop a strategy for the implementation of contemporary worship. With the support of biblical and historical research, and the use of surveys sent to pastors and leaders in the Church of the Nazarene, a strategy was developed. The purpose of this thesis project is to understand what the biblical principles for Pastoral Leadership are and, to evaluate the Korean Pastoral Leadership within the Jae Gun Revival Denomination(JRD) in Korea. Based on surveys sent to the JRD pastors in Korea, the project analyzes and evaluates the actual figures of church ministry, History, church growth, and common viewpoint of pastoral leadership. This project shows that what the reason about the Korean church growth so rapidly and find out that main reason is pastoral leadership. Eating disorders are a growing phenomenon in today's society, and adolescent women are prime candidates for this disorder. The present research study is designed to analyze bulimic behavior in college age women by administrating the Eating Disorder Inventory- 2 (Gamer, 1991), specifically focusing on the bulimia sub scale of this self-reported inventory. The purpose of the study is to measure specialized temperamental characteristics of persons demonstrating bulimic behavior as analyzed using the Myers Briggs Type Indicator (Myers-Briggs & McCaulley, 1986).
