Information Provided by Michael D. Bulmash: A confiscation report by the Gestapo. They confiscated ninety-one faked money bills from a Jew, Adolf Abraham. The document is stamped by SS and Litzmannstadt Ghetto administration. Mr. Abraham died at Litzmannstadt on May 11, 1942.

Dr. Abraham Rothfeld, who wrote and signed this announcement, was the head of the Judenrat, or Jewish council, taking the place of Dr. Joseph Parnes whom the Nazis killed because of his refusal to submit Jews for slave labor at the Janowska labor camp. Lvov had the third largest Jewish population in Poland on the eve of World War II. It had been absorbed into the General Government after the Non-Aggression Treaty between the USSR and Germany was signed.

Postcard from Berlin Gestapo, Geheime Staatspolizei, with purple Geheime Staatspolizei Berlin special cachet, cancelled in Berlin 3/28/39, addressed to one Freda Oberegger of Huttenberg, Karnten, Austria, concerning someone (“file number” 0.422) held in detention - in all probability a family member. The Gestapo acknowledge receipt of her communication, but report that further “investigation” is necessary, and that Ms. Oberegger would receive a decision later, perhaps before the month expires.

Mr. I.A. Knissel, a Viennese bureaucrat and head of the Administration and Organization Office, does a favor for a man lodging a complaint against a Jew. Mr. Knissel reports that due to his intervention, the Jew Israel Beisatti has been arrested and placed by the Gestapo in detention camp. A Dr. Publig signs the document as well.
