"Market Problems and the High Cost of Living" will be the subject of the address to be given at the noon-day luncheon at the Chamber of Commerce Wednesday by V. H. Davis, chief of the Ohio bureau of markets, Columbus.

The cornerstone laying at the new Calvary Baptist church on South Mulberry street attracted a large crowd of people Sunday afternoon. Jerome Newman, colored, died at the Soldiers' and Sailors' Home at Sandusky, Ohio, Saturday evening at 7:15 o'clock after a short illness caused by organic heart trouble. He was 65 years of age at the time of his death and is survived by one son. He was a veteran of the Civil war and was a member of Joe Hooker Post, No. 21, G.A.R. The remains were brought to this city on Monday evening and were taken to Chappelear and Co.'s undertaking parlors on North Main street.
