Especially noteworthy in Number 1 is the highly critical review of the Christian Quarterly by Moses Lard, whose quarterly failed for lack of patronage in April,1868.

When Isaac Errett moved at the end of 1868 to Alliance, Ohio, to become the president of Alliance College, the Christian Standard came in tow. Although it was a little late, the January 2 issue was the first issue published at Alliance.
Associate editors were Burke Aaron Hinsdale and Allen Richardson Benton, both on staff at Alliance College with Errett,
The move to Alliance does not affect the contents. The standard fare continues, with the regular columns such as Original Essays, …

In 1868 John Clopton Reynolds purchased the Gospel Echo from E. L. Craig and moved it to Macomb, Illinois.
In 1869 James Harvey Garrison joined the staff as Associate Editor.
Pages 464 and 465 were badly smudged on the microfilm and are unreadable in the PDF.
