The present writer has long been interested in the study of Pauline instruction concerning motivation for sanctification. In 1967 he presented to the faculty of Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, a Master of Sacred Theology thesis on the subject of the fourth of the abovementioned motivations for ethical living, namely, faith in the fact of the Christian's union with Christ and personal participation with Him in his death and resurrection.
