From Building To Dwelling: Unfolding Infinity Through Bioregional Fulfillment, Sanjana Bhatnagar
Pitzer Senior Theses
The causes of anthropogenic climate change touch every feature of our modern-day existences. Approaches to sustainability tend to focus on material actions, but unsustainable practices are guided by an ontological orientation of individuality and human exceptionalism. This thesis provides an alternate account of being that decenters individuality through weaving the metaphysics of Fazang of the Huayan School of Mahayana Buddhism with the metaphysics of Martin Heidegger. To encompass the whole of the relational network that constitutes and conditionally defines our existence, I expand Heidegger’s account of locales as relational sites which are put forth solely by humans to an account …

Affinity For Infinity, Pam Lewis
Affinity For Infinity, Pam Lewis
Journal of Humanistic Mathematics
Infinity is an infinitely perplexing concept. In these poems I explore various facets. The first one, Affinity for Infinity, is just silly. In Geometry, I take a more serious, but no more enlightening, approach. Odd Odds, Chaos Theory, and Recalculation touch on the areas of probability, chaos, and emotional and social processes, respectively, all dealing with the infinite possibilities that somehow collapse into the one we experience.

CGU MFA Theses
My current paintings are not finite objects. They test the quantum world of possibilities by exploring the idea of continuity and change. They generate, with each viewer, a state of self-reflection that in exchange promotes a wide range of unpredictable feelings and reactions that became thoughts and beliefs. For a painting of mine, there are multiple or infinite solutions and I, along with the viewers, search for answers. To suggest this state of infinity I extend the paint from the actual canvas onto the walls that host it. My paintings present no borders, no frames: just fluidity.
