Comparaison Morphologique De Deux Empreintes Myodynamiques : Étude Pilote, Jean-Michel Saadé, Jihad Fakhouri, Fady El Hage, Paul Boulos, Joseph Makzoumé
International Arab Journal of Dentistry
Numerous studies have compared dentures fabricated using neutral zone and conventional techniques. However, studies comparing swallowing and phonetic techniques for location and shape assessment of the neutral zone using the same material could not be found in the literature. The purpose of this study was to compare the outline form of the phonetic and swallowing neutral zone impression techniques for the same subject. Five edentulous patients with advanced mandibular ridge resorption were included in this study. For each subject, 2 trays were prepared in autopolymerizing acrylic resin. Impressions were made using the same autopolymerizing resin. Nonetheless, one method used phonetics to …
The Relationship Between Overjet And Skeletal Parameters In Untreated Class Ii Subjects, Abdulkarim Hasan, Mais Raslan
The Relationship Between Overjet And Skeletal Parameters In Untreated Class Ii Subjects, Abdulkarim Hasan, Mais Raslan
International Arab Journal of Dentistry
The aim of the present study was to evaluate the association between skeletal and dentoalveolar parameters and overjet in untreated Class II subjects. The lateral cephalograms of 75 untreated Class II Caucasian individuals (37 males and 38 females), between 18 and 25 years of age, were studied. The participants were divided into three groups based on the overjet value. The mean values of 14 variables measured on lateral cephalograms were calculated. Differences between the three groups were tested using one- way analysis of variance (ANOVA).A statistically significant positive correlation was found between the values of overjet and ANB. Subjects with normal …

Effect Of Different Intraorifice Barriers In Endodontically Treated Teeth Obturated With Gutta- Percha, Basem Salim, Nour Hassan
International Arab Journal of Dentistry
The purpose of the present study was to compare the ability of three restorative materials (mineral trioxide aggregate (MTA) – composite - glass ionomer cement (GIC)) in coronal sealing of the endodontically treated root canal intra-orifice in extracted teeth.90 freshly extracted human teeth with single root canal were chosen. X-rays were taken, and the teeth were decoronated using a diamond disc. The canals were prepared and filled with zinc oxide-eugenol sealer and gutta-percha cones using the late- ral compaction technique. They were left for 24 hours in order to ensure the quite hardening of the filling material. After that, the …

Fracture Resistance Of Different Restorative Techniques For Endodontically Treated Teeth, Maisoun Latrash, Nagwa Sayed, Roula Abiad, Mohammad Rayyan
International Arab Journal of Dentistry
Eighty endodontically treated premolars were prepared and divided into four groups according to the amount of tooth loss: group 1) OD cavity; group 2) MOD cavity; group 3) only buccal wall was left; group 4) decapitated teeth. The prepared crowns were sub-divided into two subgroups according to the type of restoration: subgroup A) glass fiber post and core and subgroup B) auto polymerizing composite core. Metal copings were constructed and cemented for all groups. Fracture resistance of the entire samples was measured using universal testing machine. The findings indicated a statistically significant difference between the groups. The mean load required …
