He encloses a copy of the October, 1960 issue of The Episcopal Church Advocate of the Diocese of Lexington and draws her attention to its contents, particularly an article about the publication’s founder, John Esten Cooke, and a portrait of him by artist Matthew Jouett. Kelsay expresses pride in the revival of the publication after more than one hundred years, and in the greater numbers of Kentucky Episcopalians since 1950 due to “vigorous evangelism.”
