Acceptance was examined in relation to the workforce and conditions of acceptance were identified using mixed methodology. Quantitative (surveys) and qualitative (interviews) data was used to measure and analyze the existing state of technology acceptance and site culture. Based on this exploratory study, it was found the manufacturing facility has a weak culture but would be generally accepting of industrial robots if the technology were easy to use and useful. How Did The Students Cross The Stage? The Relationship Of Demographic Factors On Early Selection Of College Major, Christy Riddle

Dissertations

Student retention is a highly researched topic studied for many decades, but low retention of college students still exists today. As more states move to success-based funding formulas, it is more important than ever for higher education institutions to increase retention efforts (Swecker, 2011). Colleges and universities launch programs trying to combat and improve retention deficits. Research reveals that student engagement, academic advising, demographics, socioeconomic factors, and early selection of major within the first academic year play a role in retention.

The purpose of this study is to determine if early selection of major relates to the demographic factors of …

Demographics And Poverty Spending Attitudes In The Mississippi Poll: 2004-2014, William Case Jorgeson Aug 2015

Demographics And Poverty Spending Attitudes In The Mississippi Poll: 2004-2014, William Case Jorgeson

Theses and Dissertations

The plight of the poor has played a role in America’s politics for decades. In the 1930’s, Franklin Roosevelt’s Democratic Party vowed to fight the Great Depression, and by implementing countless anti-poverty initiatives and agencies it won enormous favor with the public and ushered in a period of Democratic dominance. In modern politics, narratives surrounding the poor and programs designed to help them are utilized by Republicans and Democrats to further their party’s agenda. I examine the influence of various demographic factors on the attitudes of Mississippi residents towards spending by the government intended to alleviate poverty, using the Mississippi …

The results show that age, education, and income are significant factors in explaining differences in health-related behaviors and attitudes for all urban, rural and isolated respondents. However, after controlling for socio-demographic differences, isolation is found to have only a few significant effects, and some of the effects run counter to stereotypes of isolated populations. Rural respondents are significantly more likely than isolated respondents to …

The Tectonic Forces Of Global Real Estate, David J. Lynn

David Lynn

[Excerpt] There are major shifts underway in the fundamental structure, or the underlying tectonic plates, of the global commercial real estate industry. These massive plate movements are creating an entirely new landscape within real estate and challenging long-held assumptions about commercial real estate investment, development, and ownership. The industry is transforming from a highly localized, deal-driven business to an international market characterized by lower transactions costs, abundant information, lower risk premiums, and increasing sophistication. Even the perception of real estate as an investment class is changing—investors increasingly see real estate as a stable, secure investment, producing solid returns with less …

Fueled by the former Communist revolutionary leader Ho Chi Minh’s dream of uniting Vietnam under one communist ideal, the north cemented their occupation in the Fall of Saigon in 1975 and the retreat of all American soldiers. Along with the retreat of thousands of American troops, came the many waves of Vietnamese immigrants to steadily make their way to various parts of the world including the United States, Canada, Australia, and France. Opinions On Divorce In Georgia Between Different Demographic Groups, Rachel A. Melcher

Honors College Theses

Divorce has always been a divisive topic; indeed, divorce rates differ wildly among members of different demographic groups. What of their opinions, though?
