Determining Factors For The Success Of Trade Show Websites, Jumyong Lee

UNLV Retrospective Theses & Dissertations

The main purpose of this study is to evaluate appropriate quality factors of trade show websites as a marketing communication tool. These factors will be compared by measuring the impact on user satisfaction in the specific view of trade show attendees. In total, 369 responses were collected from the attendees of the World Tea Expo. The data was analyzed using multiple regression analysis. The findings indicated that the four proposed website quality factors were significantly …

Analysis Of Determinant Factors Of A Convention And Visitors Bureau Website Service Quality: Perspectives Of Meeting Planners, Min Sook Kim Jan 2006

Analysis Of Determinant Factors Of A Convention And Visitors Bureau Website Service Quality: Perspectives Of Meeting Planners, Min Sook Kim

UNLV Retrospective Theses & Dissertations

Website service quality is widely accepted as one of the key determinants of online business success. Several studies identified key factors that determine the website service quality factors appropriate for online business environments (Kaynama & Black, 2000; Van Riel, Liljander, & Jurriens, 2001). A convention and visitors bureau (CVB) website is a service portal that delivers information online about a destination so users can develop an overall image of the location; CVBs struggle to deliver positive destination images because the competition among destinations to host conventions is intense. In spite of the important role of CVBs and the beneficial spillover …

Residential Lead Hazards, Nutritional Deficiencies, And Socio-Cultural Factors Related To Hispanic Children With Blood Lead Levels Greater Than Or Equal To Five Micrograms Per Deciliter, Elena E Cabb Jan 2006

Residential Lead Hazards, Nutritional Deficiencies, And Socio-Cultural Factors Related To Hispanic Children With Blood Lead Levels Greater Than Or Equal To Five Micrograms Per Deciliter, Elena E Cabb

UNLV Retrospective Theses & Dissertations

One of the most significant public health successes during the late 20th century was the reduction of blood lead levels among children in the United States. However, lead continues to be a public health issue because it often affects minority children of lower socioeconomic status, who live in older homes. Young children are especially susceptible to the harmful affects of lead due to their vulnerable developmental state. According to research, the most common sources of lead exposure for U.S. children are lead-based paint and lead-contaminated dust in the home; This study examined residential lead hazards, nutritional deficiencies, and socio-cultural factors …

A Comprehensive Structural Model Of Factors Affecting Online Consumer Travel Purchasing, Hsing Wen Jan 2006

A Comprehensive Structural Model Of Factors Affecting Online Consumer Travel Purchasing, Hsing Wen

UNLV Retrospective Theses & Dissertations

The purpose of this research was to develop a comprehensive model to study consumers' online purchase intention of travel products. Related literature reviews suggested antecedents of consumers' online purchase intention including EC travel web site design, past purchase experience, consumer trust, consumer's attitudes toward online shopping of travel products; The model was developed by integrating one existing theoretical model (Shim's Online Pre-purchase Intentions Model) with several important factors which were guided by theories: (1) social cognitive theory, (2) self-efficacy theory, (3) theory of planned behavior (TPB), (4) attitude-behavior consistency theory, (5) theory of consumer trust, and (6) communication theory. As …

Environmental Factors Affecting Retention And Graduation In Mlt /Clt Programs, Patricia R Castro Jan 2006

Environmental Factors Affecting Retention And Graduation In Mlt /Clt Programs, Patricia R Castro

UNLV Retrospective Theses & Dissertations

The quality of education delivered to medical laboratory technician/clinical laboratory technician (MLT/CLT) students has been an evolving concern for the clinical laboratory sciences profession. This situation prompted consideration of various factors in MLT/CLT education to determine if student/program characteristics affected student performance; Principles extracted from Alexander Astin's Input-Environment-Output (I-E-O) model were used as a foundation for considering the factors that affect MLT/CLT program student outcomes. Input, environmental, and outcome variables related to MLT/CLT programs were identified for study; A literature review was conducted to gather information relevant to the development of clinical laboratory science practice and education, curriculum development and …

Investigation Of The Relationship Between Firm-Wise Financial Factors And Firm Performance In The Hospitality Industry, Zhenxing Mao Jan 2006

Investigation Of The Relationship Between Firm-Wise Financial Factors And Firm Performance In The Hospitality Industry, Zhenxing Mao

UNLV Retrospective Theses & Dissertations

This study empirically investigates the relationship between firm-wise financial factors and firm performance in the hospitality industry from 2000 to 2004 using panel data regression. After a literature review of firm-wise financial factors and their impact on performance in the literature, unit-effect and time-effect linear models were proposed and examined in both the restaurant and hotel sectors with different firm performance measures used as the dependent variable (i.e., Proxy Q, Sharpe ratio, and Treynor ratio). While some variables, especially liquidity and solvency, were found to have significant impacts on firm performance measured by Proxy Q and Sharpe ratio in both …

Remembering The Pain: Psychosocial Factors Related To Endometriotic Pain And Its Recall, Sarah E Nunnink Jan 2006

Remembering The Pain: Psychosocial Factors Related To Endometriotic Pain And Its Recall, Sarah E Nunnink

UNLV Retrospective Theses & Dissertations

Endometriosis is a chronic and debilitating disease, affecting women of childbearing years in a variety of ways, including infertility, dyspareunia, dysmenorrhea, and chronic pelvic pain. Diagnosis and treatment planning are guided primarily by retrospective pain recall, regardless of the fact that (1) there is only a tenuous relationship between pain reports and physical pathology and (2) the accuracy of pain recall has never been assessed in this population. The current study investigated the accuracy of endometriotic pain recall over a 30-day period, as well as potential psychological mediators to pain recall accuracy, including general psychological wellbeing, distress specific to infertility, …

Influencing Factors On Plankton Populations In A Desert Man -Made Lake, Steven Weber Jan 2006

Influencing Factors On Plankton Populations In A Desert Man -Made Lake, Steven Weber

UNLV Retrospective Theses & Dissertations

The purpose of this study was to examine and identify the factors that have influenced changes in phytoplankton and zooplankton assemblages during the initial thirteen years of ecological development of Lake Las Vegas, Clark County, Nevada. Univariate and multivariate statistical methods were used to determine the level of influence lake water chemistry, lake physical characteristics and planktonic groups will have on overall plankton community dynamics. Water quality and plankton population data have been collected since 1991 when the lake began filling through the period of study ending December, 2003; Results indicate the zooplankton biomass was most influenced by conductance, total …
