Changing Nature: Globalization And Economic Reforms In Brazil, Lucas Gimenes Loureiro

Theses and Dissertations

Globalization is affecting our lives in ways that we never expected before. Greater interdependence, some scholars argue, weakens the ability of nation-states to retain their authority over individuals and corporations. However, nation-states are highly adaptable and they have the power to maintain their primacy . Governments have the ability to choose which model of development their economies should pursue. In other words, governments will essentially steer their economies in a certain direction, even though they cannot determine the exact path that …

Redefining Multicultural Education And Its Applications In The General Music Classroom, Emily C. Hardwick Jul 2006

Redefining Multicultural Education And Its Applications In The General Music Classroom, Emily C. Hardwick

Theses and Dissertations

"Understanding music in relation to history and culture" is the ninth standard for music education developed by the National Association for Music Educators (MENC) in 1994 (Mark, 1996, p. 50). This principle is very broad and it is up to individual teachers to make sure they include history and multiculturalism in their curriculum. A Multimetric Benthic Index For Georgia's Wadeable Streams, Amanda Lynn Middleton

Multimetric indices identified a range of stream conditions, as well as, the overall health of aquatic ecosystems. Based on multimetric indices, the Multimetric Rating System grouped streams according to overall stream condition. The Multimetric Rating System used multiple indices to describe various facets of stream condition. Therefore, it may be concluded that the Multimetric Rating System is a robust water management tool that may be …

Theses and Dissertations

With the advancement in technology over the years, the administering of online surveys has expanded. Victorians And The Underground, Melissa Mcdaniel

Theses and Dissertations

Specifically, the way in which women are portrayed, both poetically and socially, reflects the desire by men to imprison or enclose the sexual power of women. For the Victorians, tunnels represent not only the thriving age of industrialization, but they also symbolically suggest the social confinement of nineteenth-century women.
