Courtney Soil And Water Conservation Plan
Courtney Soil And Water Conservation Plan
Farming in Arkansas
The Soil Conservation District of Lawrence County, under the authority of the United States Department of Agriculture and Soil Conservation Service, assisted local farmers in developing plans to manage their lands. These plans included suggestions for preventing erosion, water pollution, and crop failure. For J.J. Courtney, a plan was developed to manage his farm outside of Walnut Ridge that would prevent soil erosion and promote soil health for good crop yields.

Letter From Senator Langer To Arne Tollefson Regarding Federal Funding For Road Construction, December 30, 1952, William Langer
William Langer Papers
This letter, dated December 30, 1952, from United States (US) Senator William Langer to McKenzie County Auditor Arne Tollefson, references their recent correspondence regarding highway construction, and includes the reply Langer received from Commissioner of Public Roads Thomas H. MacDonald regarding the question of possible federal funding for a proposed road. MacDonald's reply indicates that federal funding may be possible for four of the seven miles of proposed road, though the state has so far not requested federal aid for those qualifying miles. Langer recommends that Tollefson take the matter up directly with the State Highway Department.
Langer adds that …

A Study Of The Kinetics And The Free Radicals Involved In The Low-Pressure, Vapor-Phase Pyrolysis Of Toluene, Robert E. Williams
A Study Of The Kinetics And The Free Radicals Involved In The Low-Pressure, Vapor-Phase Pyrolysis Of Toluene, Robert E. Williams
Chemistry and Chemical Biology ETDs
This research was undertaken to study the pyrolysis of toluene in the vapor phase.
Many pyrolytic reactions of toluene have been studied by others, but the difficulty of controlling the reactions and the complexity of the products have not allowed much successful application of the results. The present work was an endeavor to better understand the reaction mechanisms and the intermediates involved in pyrolysis.
Specifically, the problem was to study the discrepancies between the results reported by M. Szwarc and by Hein and Mesee.

Wakefield And Soureby: Manor And Village In The Reign Of Edward The First, Robert Allan Figge
Wakefield And Soureby: Manor And Village In The Reign Of Edward The First, Robert Allan Figge
History ETDs
It is the purpose of this study to investigate the core of manorial life, a single manor, in order to reconstruct the type of life existent there. For this purpose the manor of Wakefield in Yorkshire, England, has been chosen. As a further limiting factor this study will inquire into Wakefield life in the reign of a single king, Edward I, 1272-1307. It is hoped by this effort that life in Wakefield may be caught in a photograph, before it has a chance to vary its characteristics and customs to any great degree.
