Economic Assessment Of The Construction Industry: A Construction-Economics Nexus, Herbert Marion Barber
Economic Assessment Of The Construction Industry: A Construction-Economics Nexus, Herbert Marion Barber
Theses and Dissertations
The purpose of this study was to conduct an economic assessment of the construction industry. More specifically, this study addresses ambiguities within the literature that are associated with the construction-economics nexus. The researcher 1) investigated the relationships between economic indicators and stock prices of U.S. construction equipment manufacturers, 2) investigated the relationships between energy production, consumption, and corruption, and 3) determined the economic effect electricity generation and electricity consumption has on economies of scale. The researcher used descriptive and inferential statistics in this study and determined that economists, researchers, policy-makers, and others should have predicted the 2007-08 world economic collapse …
Macro-Model Of Through Silicon Vias (Tsvs) Arrays, Karim Ahmed
Macro-Model Of Through Silicon Vias (Tsvs) Arrays, Karim Ahmed
Theses and Dissertations
As continued scaling down of transistors becomes increasingly difficult due to physical and technical issues like the increase of leakage power and total power consumption, overall, 3D integration is now considered a viable solution to get a higher bandwidth and power efficiency. Use of Through-silicon-vias (TSVs), which connects stacked structures die-to-die, is expected to be one of the most important techniques enabling 3D integration. As the number of through silicon Vias (TSVs) exists in the same chip is increasing, an algorithm to build a macro-model is needed to find inter-relationship between TSVs. There are different coupling parameters that exist between …
Modeling Volume Change Due To Intercalation Into Porous Electrodes, Kumud Kanneganti
Modeling Volume Change Due To Intercalation Into Porous Electrodes, Kumud Kanneganti
Theses and Dissertations
Electrochemical devices (batteries, fuel cell) are expected to play a vital role in the future of energy consumption for various purposes ranging from house hold usage to space exploration. Research is being conducted on various aspects so as to improve the design and operating range of these devices and one of the primary focuses is the porous electrode. It has been reported that significant volume change can occur during electrode processes, within the porous electrodes and depending on the material it can be as high as, but not limited to 300%. These large volume changes along with product formation in …
Synthesis And Characterization Of New Ionic And Mixed Ionic/Electronic Conductors, Kevin Gregory Romito
Synthesis And Characterization Of New Ionic And Mixed Ionic/Electronic Conductors, Kevin Gregory Romito
Theses and Dissertations
In a constantly growing and developing world, there is a great need to develop new forms of clean energy generation. Many solutions have been proposed to ameliorate these global concerns, which include fuel cell technology and new processes for reducing polluting chemicals in the atmosphere. These technologies are still in their infancy and require further development before becoming viable options.
In the case of fuel cells, particularly solid oxide fuel cells, and CO2 separation membranes, there is a need to develop ion conducting materials that are highly efficient, less costly to synthesize, and can perform strongly under many real-world conditions. …
