All Graduate Plan B and other Reports, Spring 1920 to Spring 2023

The common-law, as it has evolved from the Eighteenth Century, is that school districts are immune from tort liability because they are a functioning part of the state. At this time, however, there are a great many changes taking place in the laws throughout the country. Some states have completely abrogated the doctrine of tort immunity while others have done so only in part. Experiments conducted in the first part of the present century have demonstrated large differences in plant growth in soil infested with nematodes and soil freed of nematodes by …

A History Of The Wpa In Utah, Larry H. Malmgren

All Graduate Theses and Dissertations, Spring 1920 to Summer 2023

During the 7th decade of the twentieth century, a period of prosperity and economic advancement, it is difficult to understand the tragedies of the "Great Depression" that began in the 1920's and lasted until the early 1940's in these United States.

Many of today's fathers and mothers remember their childhood as a period of want hunger because they were "children of the depression." Many grandparents remember the loss of their jobs, empty cupboards, idleness and widespread poverty, because they were the "parents of the depression." In today's society, relief is often taken for granted, and governmental agencies are expected to …

Heber J. Grant reflected, both consciously and unconsciously, a Mormon agrarian background and ideology. His moral fervor and idealism was in the tradition of his father, Jedediah Morgan Grant, the leading figure of the 1856 "Mormon Reformation." A geographic study of this area in 1869 focuses attention on the nature of the Mormon civilization and more fully illuminates the effect of …

Folklore stories of divine intervention include the lore of divine aid given in time of great need, divine …
